Arts and Creative

The school has full departments for Art, Music, and Theatre and Dance. Students can study visual arts, music performance and theory, theatre production, and dance. Lower-year students must complete at least 3 arts credits.

Phillips Academy Andover is one of the oldest and most prestigious boarding schools in the United States, founded in 1778. Located on a historic campus in Andover, Massachusetts, it educates around 1,169 students in grades 9 through 12, with 75% boarding and 25% day students. The school draws students from 53 countries and 41 US states and territories. With over 300 courses including 150 electives across 10 academic departments, average class sizes of 13, and more than 200 faculty members, Andover offers one of the broadest academic programmes of any secondary school. The school practises need-blind admission and meets 100% of demonstrated financial need through grants, with 47% of students receiving aid averaging USD 45,000 annually.
