The ASD curriculum is used across all subjects, aligned with the Common Core State Standards. German language standards are based on the National Foreign Language Standards and Alaska ASD world language standards. The Sprachmeister Program encourages first through fifth grade students to speak only German during the German portions of the school day, earning flags for days of only German. Saturday German Classes offer German language learning for adults, elementary, and preschool participants.
German cultural events are held at Rilke Schule, including a Schultüten assembly on the Kindergarten's first day. Oktoberfest is an annual fundraising event hosted by Rilke Schule in October. St. Martinstag lantern parades and related activities are part of the school's cultural celebrations. St. Nikolaus Tag is also observed with lanterns and related German cultural activities.

Rilke Clubs is an after-school program offered at Rilke Schule German Immersion School. Rilke Clubs are operated by Rilke Schule Inc., a non-profit that handles capital investment, real property acquisition, and property operations management. RSV | PTO coordinates volunteers, raises funds, and provides culturally relevant events throughout the year. Volunteers are invited to sign up via RSV communications and contact methods to participate in school activities.
RSV coordinates volunteers to provide educational benefits and enrichment opportunities for students. RSV raises funds to support equipment, supplies, faculty, training, and enrichment programs. RSV provides culturally relevant events that honor German culture, promote school unity, and engage the broader community. RSV volunteer opportunities and meetings are communicated through newsletters and signup channels, with board members available for contact.
Rilke Schule has an active internship program where visiting college students, mainly from Germany, spend time helping at the school. The internship program is coordinated by the Amity Institute, a nonprofit organization that promotes international friendship and cultural understanding through teaching exchange. Host families are needed to host interns for three months. The Academic Policy Committee (APC) maintains policies and meeting minutes for community access.
Rilke Clubs provide activities before and after school, contributing to student engagement beyond the classroom. The school calendar includes social and community events such as Dine to Donate Night and Kinoabend (Movie Night). RSV and PTO coordinate events and volunteer opportunities that strengthen school-community ties. Volunteer opportunities through RSV welcome participation from parents and community members to support student wellbeing.
Rilke Schule German Charter School of Arts and Sciences is a tuition-free K–8 charter school within the Anchorage School District in Anchorage, Alaska. The school offers a German immersion program for Kindergarten through eighth grade, the first immersion in the district. All students learn German while the core curriculum follows the Anchorage School District's Common Core Standards. German language standards align with National Foreign Language Standards and ASD world language expectations; starting in Grade 2, students complete an annual German assessment called STAMP. In Grades 3, 6, and 8, German exams produced by Germany (A1, A2, B1) are administered; Service High School administers the B2/C1 exam, often required for German universities. The school uses ASD RTI and tracks progress with AIMSweb and ASD testing. The Abbott Loop campus includes a gym, library, spaces for special services, and a hot lunch program, with a five-year occupancy waiver and upcoming fire-system upgrades.
