The Student Parliament of the German School of Montevideo is a space for active student participation in school life, created to promote positive change in the institution. It is composed of class delegates from 5th grade (Primary) to 3rd year of Secondary, generation delegates, committee leaders, and a presidential team at both locations: Pocitos and Carrasco. The group works in areas such as biculturalism, coexistence, shared spaces, sport, art and creativity, as well as in technology, communication and environment. The Student Parliament meets regularly to listen to students' concerns, desires, and ideas, and to develop solutions together. Responsibilities include representing the interests of students, shaping school life through projects and events such as No Uniform Day and the Biculturality Festival, promoting constructive cooperation with adscriptos, the teaching staff, the CPCA, the Steuergruppe and the Leadership Team, and fostering responsibility and participation so students learn to take on responsibilities, make joint decisions, and understand how democracy works. Participation offers a chance to contribute to the school and gain valuable experience. For more information, contact parlamentoestudiantil@dsm.edu.uy. Pocitos location: Av. The Parents' Commission of the German School (CPCA) is the formal link of parents with the school's management and with the German School Society (SEA). Its main task is to channel concerns and suggestions from both sides, creating a space for exchange and collaboration. How it works: it is composed of all parents of the school, administered by a Board and functioning through a representative system of parent delegates (two per class) elected at the start of the school year. What it does: the CPCA meets regularly with the Principal to discuss, exchange ideas, and relay delegates' queries on various topics affecting school life. It also organizes and collaborates in activities such as Family Festival, talks for parents, graduation medals for 6th grade of Primary, materials for making the cones for 1st grade of Primary, Easter eggs for Primary, Kindergarten welcome events (Kindergartenfest), Hemobus days, welcome events for parents of 1st grade, and support for various projects. What delegates do: delegates act as a link between parents and the CPCA Board, attend monthly delegates' meetings, and ensure ongoing communication between their class parents, the CPCA Board, and the School; they may run to be part of the CPCA Board, which is partially renewed each year.
