Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

The French School of Tachkent began in 1997 as a result of French expatriate parents' desire to offer continuity of education and access to high-quality education for Francophones and Francophiles in Uzbekistan. A French association under Law 1901, formed by the parent community and under the authority of the Ambassador of France in Uzbekistan, supports the school's mission to extend the Public Service of French education abroad. The school currently welcomes more than 100 students from Uzbekistan and more than ten other nationalities, with more than 20 teachers providing education from Preschool to Grade 12 and a 99% success rate at the Baccalaureate Diploma and the Junior School Certificate since the school's creation. The languages taught at primary level are English and Russian; in total, four living languages are offered in addition to French during schooling. The school has been a partner of AEFE since 2001.

Extracurricular activities and physical activities are offered as part of school life. A library is available for student use, and a school newsletter is published. Field trips are organized and there are various school events throughout the year.
