English is the language of instruction via the Cambridge curriculum; Russian and Uzbek language components are included in Key Stage 3 (including Russian, Uzbek Language, Uzbek Culture and Uzbek History). Specialist language subjects include French, Russian, and Uzbek. Cambridge Global English supports early language development in Primary. EAL and ALS provide English language support, with some classes taught by Russian/Uzbek-speaking staff.
Some classes have bilingual teachers or teaching assistants who speak Russian or Uzbek to support language development. English language support is provided by EAL specialists, and bilingual staff may deliver in-class language aid in some lessons.
Westminster International School in Tashkent is an international school opened in September 2019 on a purpose-built campus that serves students aged 2 to 18. The school delivers IEYC and IPC in the early years and follows a British curriculum with Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Levels, Cambridge A Levels, and the IB Diploma Programme. It is a UCAS centre and authorised examination centre for Cambridge Assessment International Education and Pearson Edexcel, a member of the Council of International Schools.
