Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Book a school visit or campus tour
Families are encouraged to arrange a visit through the school’s admissions page to see the Da Nang campus, meet the admissions team, and discuss program options. During the visit, parents can ask about the International and Bilingual Programs, fees, and English support pathways. This visit helps families understand whether APU’s academic structure and environment are a suitable match for their child.

2. Submit the application form and required documents
Parents complete APU’s online application form and submit the requested information to the Admissions Office. The school requires the English Proficiency Testing and Application Fee at this stage, which is non-refundable. The admissions team reviews the student’s documents to begin evaluating placement needs.

3. Attend the English placement test and interview
APU requires students to sit an English proficiency assessment, especially those entering higher grade levels or the International Program. This assessment helps determine whether the student will enter the English Language Development (ELD) program or join mainstream classes. Families may also meet admissions staff to discuss the child’s academic background and placement.

4. Receive an offer and confirm enrolment
If the application is approved, the school issues an enrolment offer. Parents confirm acceptance and proceed with the required Enrollment Fee and deposit, following the deadlines listed in the official tuition schedule. The student’s place is confirmed once payment and documentation are completed.

5. Pay tuition and prepare for the start of school
To finalise enrolment, families complete tuition payment under either the full-payment plan or the two-installment plan. Before school begins, parents arrange uniforms, transportation if needed, and meal plan options. The admissions and finance teams guide the remaining steps needed before the student begins classes.

Waitlist

APU does not publicly describe a waitlist or pool system on its website.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

APU does not publish detailed information about internal school-fee scholarships, such as eligibility criteria or application steps. The school’s website highlights a large scholarship initiative offered by its parent organisation for talented students in Da Nang and Quang Nam, but this is not described as a standard recurring school-fee scholarship process. APU also reports that its graduating students receive substantial university scholarships abroad, but these are awarded by universities—not by APU itself.
Therefore, based on available information, the school does not publicly disclose specific internal scholarship programmes or how they operate.

APU American International School – Da Nang offers a U.S.-licensed K–12 program at 299 Tran Dai Nghia Street in Ngu Hanh Son District, with both International and Bilingual tracks on one campus. The International Program follows a curriculum licensed by the U.S. Department of Education and aligned with Common Core standards, taught entirely in English. The Bilingual Program meets the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training requirements while integrating an American standard curriculum, with 12–18 English periods per week and instruction that uses the CALLA model to link English with other subjects. Facilities at the Da Nang campus include laboratories, music and drama spaces, IT rooms, library, cafeteria, and physical education areas. A distinctive feature is APU’s academic pathway: high-school students can take Advanced Placement (AP) courses and join the College Bridge Program to earn U.S. university credits while still at school, potentially shortening their degree by up to two years.
