VASchools began as a Vietnamese–American bilingual schooling system in 2006, when VIDON Corp established the Vietnamese American Primary School and launched its first academic year in 2006–2007 at 252 Lac Long Quan Street, Ward 10, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City, which serves as the system headquarters. The Can Tho campuses joined the network as part of the system's expansion, with a Vietnamese American Kindergarten Can Tho and a Vietnamese American Primary – Lower – Upper Secondary School Can Tho located in An Nghiep (Ninh Kieu District) and Cai Rang District (Thien Loc area). By 2020, the VASchools network operated about 13 campuses across Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, and Vung Tau. In January 2021, a bilingual Can Tho kindergarten facility was inaugurated, marking a milestone in the city's expansion of bilingual education within the VASchools ecosystem.
VASchools emphasizes a Vietnamese–English bilingual education with an ESL program to prepare students for study at international universities. The system integrates extracurricular activities and community volunteering as part of its holistic development approach. Family involvement is encouraged through formal parent forums and seminars that discuss school matters and gather input from parents. Charity and community initiatives are a regular part of the school culture, including programs that involve students, families, and staff in service activities.
The Parents section states that family involvement is central to VASchools Can Tho campuses and across the network. It offers forums for parent input and topic-specific seminars, enabling ongoing dialogue with school leadership. Parent testimonials and feedback from families illustrate active engagement with teachers and school programs. Charity initiatives are coordinated with families through the Nhân Ái VAschools program, linking student learning with community service. Volunteerism and community service are reinforced as core values within the school's mission and daily activities.
