Italian is taught from Reception to Grade 11. Primary students have Italian lessons, gradually increasing familiarity with the language. In the secondary section, the basics of Italian are consolidated and students are introduced to Italian culture, society and history. Students enrolled in the Italian IGCSE programme can understand and communicate simple tasks on familiar topics.
The school offers an immersive Italian language program. All Italian teachers are native Italian speakers. The Senior High section undertakes an annual trip to Italy, offering a first-hand experience of the language and culture. The school collaborates with the Zambian-Italian Cultural Centre to host annual workshops with visiting Italian artists for all students.
Italian School of Lusaka is a Cambridge International Centre with over four decades of operation and 400+ students, offering British curriculum education with Italian language programmes and Duke of Edinburgh International Award.
