History

The Heritage School is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school in Borrowdale Brooke, Harare, Zimbabwe. It is governed by a board of directors including David Austin (Managing Director), Janet Austin, Thomas Austin, Lucy Austin, Evelyn Pangeti, Julian Pederick and Fortune Pangeti. The school operates a British National Curriculum adapted for Zimbabwe and upholds the motto Alta Pete (Aim High). It is described as new relative to many Zimbabwean schools and features state-of-the-art facilities, with strong senior IGCSE results and Cambridge Primary Checkpoint progress.

Community

The Heritage School maintains a vibrant community with regular updates about sports, arts and student life. Highlights include the Junior Choir earning honours at the Ethnic Junior Choirs Cup, the indoor hockey team's match results, and Infant Department Book Day celebrations. Heritage School Zimbabwe is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school in Borrowdale Brooke, Harare, serving pupils from ages 1 to 18. The campus comprises four departments—Hericreche, Infants, Juniors and Seniors—with Acacia House providing boarding and a Dining Hall. The curriculum blends the British National Curriculum with Zimbabwean requirements, delivering Cambridge Primary Checkpoint at Year 6 and IGCSE in Years 9–10, followed by AS/A‑level routes in the Sixth Form, including a compulsory global perspective course. Core Senior subjects include English, Mathematics, Sciences, Geography, History, ICT, Art and Design, Music and Languages (English, French, Shona). Facilities include four Science Laboratories, a Food Science Suite, two Art Rooms, a Music Room, a Library with a Research Laboratory, Apollo Hall and ICT resources. The 45-acre parkland supports sports such as indoor cricket, hockey and tennis, plus weekend trips. The school emphasizes leadership and service, with many Sixth Form students progressing to universities worldwide.
