Vienna International School (VIS) is an IB World School in Austria serving ages 3–18. The Primary School delivers the IB PYP in English; German is taught from age five, and Mother Tongue and PAL programmes support over 20 languages. In Secondary, VIS offers the IB MYP for Grades 6–10 and the IB DP for Grades 11–12. The DP may be taken as the VIS Diploma with IB courses or as the IB Diploma, with Austrian Matura Equivalence optional, and includes Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. The Vienna campus in the 22nd district features a 55,000-item library, 2,000 m2 of sport facilities with five gymnasia and a 220-seat theatre, seven music rooms, three art studios, and a Food Technology Centre plus science and design labs. Founded in 1986, Svenska Skolan i Wien is a private Swedish international school in Grinzing, Vienna, offering a Kindergarten, Preschool Class, and Elementary School for children aged 2 to 16. The school delivers a bilingual environment with Swedish and German from early years and adds English as part of language education. Primary Education for grades 1–6 follows the Swedish curriculum, Lgr 22, and since 2012 holds Öffentlichkeitsrecht from the Austrian School Board, authorising legally recognised Schulzeugnisse and smooth transitions to Austrian or international schools. The program blends Swedish curriculum standards with Austrian educational requirements, providing a versatile foundation for future study. AMADEUS International School Vienna is an IB World School offering a continuum of programmes for ages 3–18: PYP, MYP, DP and CP, with a High School Diploma option in Grades 9–12. The English-language curriculum is paired with German lessons up to Grade 10 and mother-tongue support where possible. AMADEUS Music and Arts Academy (AMAA) is integrated into the programme, delivering music, art, drama and dance within the co-curricular line-up. The six historic pavilions of the campus in Vienna's 18th district (1908–1910) house learning spaces and Pfeiffer House, a boarding facility for up to 138 students. Technology is embedded with iPads in Primary and MacBooks in Secondary, and class sizes remain small. The school offers After-School Activities and a Signature Experience Programme with age-appropriate trips, complemented by AMADEUS Life and AVCA community initiatives. Vienna Elementary School is a bilingual international school in Austria offering English and German alongside a tailored curriculum for ages 2 to 18. The program combines English-language arts with Deutsch language study in a thematic framework, linking subjects to real-life contexts. Lycée Français de Vienne (LFV) is a French international school in Vienna and a member of the AEFE network. It serves students aged 3 to 18 and operates four schools in one: Maternelle, École élémentaire, Collège and Lycée, mirroring the French National Education System. The curriculum blends the French Ministry of Education framework for French lessons with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research curriculum for native German instruction. From nursery onward, pupils learn French and German, with English added from Year 5; English, Arabic and Spanish are also taught. LFV spans two campuses, Grinzinger and Liechtenstein, and offers extensive after‑school activities. It features libraries including the Kindergarten Library, the Bibliothèque Centre de Documentation (BCD) with over 20,000 books and 30 subscriptions, and the CDI for collège and lycée.
