Boarding fees and what they include
- Full 7‑day boarding (full year): CHF 112,000 per year. This package includes full board and accommodation, tuition, mandatory activities and school trips, limited school/sport uniform items, books and supplies, many boarding extracurricular activities, supervised studies, basic sick/accident insurance and nursing, weekly laundry (one bag), Wi‑Fi and an iPad up to Grade 8, bedding and towels, airport transfer at the start of the year, residency permit assistance, weekend activities and ski outings/camp where specified. Certain items (pocket money, private lessons, optional trips, dental/specialist fees, ski jacket) are invoiced separately. - Weekly (five‑day) boarding (full year): CHF 91,800 per year. The weekly option includes most of the same items as full boarding; some boarding insurance and laundry costs may be invoiced separately as specified. - Boarding billing split: for boarding the standard instalment structure is two payments (1st instalment 70% and 2nd instalment 30%) with the 70% payment due in mid‑June and the 30% due later in the year (see Billing and deadlines). The refundable boarding deposit of CHF 10,000 is payable on enrolment.
Billing schedule, instalments and payment terms
- Standard day‑student instalments: Annual billing covers 1 September–30 June. Typical instalments are: 1st instalment (40% of the annual total) due 15 June; 2nd instalment (30%) due 30 November; 3rd instalment (30%) due 28 February. Monthly billing (10 monthly instalments) is available on request for day students with a 3% surcharge. For Grade 14 Swiss Maturité there is an alternate schedule: 50% due 15 June and 50% due 30 November. Tuition for students starting mid‑year is billed pro rata from the first day of the month. - Boarding instalments: Boarding instalments are typically split into two payments: 70% due 15 June (covering the first part of the year) and 30% due 30 November. Withdrawal, cancellation and refund rules
- Withdrawal deadlines and charges: For day students, withdrawal up to 30 September (departure end of first trimester = 31 Dec) means T1 remains due. Withdrawal between 1 Oct and 31 Dec (departure end of second trimester = 31 Mar) means T2 is due. Withdrawal after 31 Dec means the full year is due. For re‑enrolment and end‑of‑year resignations there are specified deadlines (e.g. resignation by 31 March — no charge; resignation between 1 Apr and 15 May — one month due; between 16 May and 15 June — two months due; after 15 June — T1 due). For boarding there are analogous deadlines (examples given in the boarding schedule, including that withdrawal before 31 Oct means T1+T2 are due; withdrawal after 31 Oct means the full year is due). The school accepts applications year-round. In addition to the online application form, applicants must submit supporting documents. An offer of a place is made within two weeks of receiving the application. To accept, sign the admissions letter and pay the admissions deposit. Important dates for 2025–26 include: First day of school: 20 August 2025; Autumn holidays: 11–26 October 2025; Christmas holiday: 20 December 2025 – 4 January 2026; School resumes: 5 January 2026; February holidays: 14–22 February 2026; Easter holidays: 3–19 April 2026; Swiss bank holiday: 14–17 May 2026.
Admissions
Préfleuri welcomes boys and girls aged 3 to 13 from all over the world as boarders or day pupils for the academic year or for sports and study holidays. The school is located in Switzerland on a sunny alpine plateau, 2 km from the ski resort of Villars-sur-Ollon and near Lake Geneva. An online application is available, and paper application forms can be downloaded as well. Start the process online or by downloading the paper application.
Complete the form. Documents to provide include a valid passport for at least 2 years; photocopies of the parents' passports; school reports from the two previous years; a letter of reference from a teacher or principal of the current school; and two coloured passport-sized photographs.
Interview with the headmistress. A personal interview with the headmistress at Préfleuri will be conducted before every definitive admission. This interview assesses the fit for the school and the family.
Confirmation of admission. After the personal interview you will receive the acceptance of admission.
Registration fees. The registration will become complete upon receipt of a non-refundable pre-payment of 500 CHF for day students or 1,500 CHF for boarding students.
