Admissions	Admissions 5 steps process: 1. Request an interview: Contact our admissions office to arrange an initial interview regarding your child and to find out about the availability of places in their age group. 2. Visit CEM: Explore our school by either embarking on a guided tour led by our admissions manager or attending one of our Open Days. You'll meet our teachers and leadership team members, gain insights into the school's daily activities and experience the dynamic atmosphere of our educational community. 3. Interview and level test: We facilitate a meeting between the student and the head of the respective department, who will administer a level test for students in year 5 or above. 4. Enrolment: If suitable spots are open, and we find CEM to be a good match for your child, we'll extend an official offer. You can then confirm your enrolment within a specified timeframe. 5. Admissions documentation: If you accept the offer, you will then be requested to complete the admissions enrolment documents and pay the admission fee to secure your child's admission. Registration period is open throughout the year.	Admissions Mirasur School is an independent day school for children aged 1 to 18 years. All enquiries and applications are directed to the Admissions Officer. The Admissions Officer provides information about the application process and the steps involved in applying to the School. 2. Visits: Prospective parents are encouraged to visit to see the School in action and to meet the Headteacher. Every term there is an open day which offers an informal tour of the School. For ad hoc visits, enquiries about arranging a visit should be made to the Admissions Officer. 3. Registration and offers: Following a visit, a meeting or an interview with the School and the corresponding entrance tests, the School will extend an offer of a place to the family. Parents wishing to register should complete the Admissions Registration Form, sign the Parent Contract, and return these documents with the non-refundable Registration Fee. The School will confirm that the child's name has been placed on the admission list for the relevant term and year; if the year group is fully subscribed, the child will be placed on a waiting list. A place is only confirmed when a formal offer has been made and the deposit/registration fee and documentation have been submitted by the parents. 4. Admission to Nursery: Admission to Nursery begins for children from 3 years of age. 5. Admission to other year groups: Children joining the School might, if the School decides so, undertake an interview with the School's technical director. 6. Fluency in the language of instruction: In order to cope with the academic and social demands of the School, pupils must have an appropriate working knowledge of the School's language/s of instruction. Applicant pupils may be required to undertake a language proficiency assessment before a place is offered. 7. Allocation of places, offers and waiting list: A place is available only after a formal offer has been made by the School and the required deposit/registration fee has been received. If the number of registered children exceeds available places, a defined order of criteria applies, which may include siblings in the School, children of ex-pupils, ex-pupils, results in standardized tests, and for Nursery, a full-time place may be given priority over a part-time place. Parents will be informed as soon as possible whether a place is available; the School is not obliged to state reasons for declining admission. If no place is available, parents may place their child's name on the waiting list; the School cannot guarantee when a place may become available. The School reserves the right to withdraw an offer of place if material information provided as part of the child's application is intentionally false or misleading. 8. Appeal: There is no right to appeal a decision not to admit a pupil to the School. The Headteacher's decision is final. The School's complaints procedure is not available for prospective parents or in respect of prospective pupils. 9. Parent Contract: The terms upon which the School educates each child are set out in the Parent Contract, as amended from time to time, and will be made available to parents as part of the admissions process. 10. Admissions Register and record keeping: The School maintains an Admissions Register. Applicants' details are held on file with due regard to data protection legislation, the School's Privacy Notice and Data Retention Policy. The School will not hold the personal data of your child or you for longer than is necessary for a legitimate purpose. For each pupil, the Admissions Register must include the pupil's full name, gender, names and addresses of parents, contact details, date of birth, day and year of admission, last attended school (if any), and other required information. The pupil's name is entered in the register from the first day the pupil will attend the School.
Scholarships	Scholarships Excellence Scholarships: The school offers four Excellence Scholarships in each level (Secondary and Baccalaureate). The scholarships are awarded for the following academic year and consist of discounts on the school fee: 50% discount for the best academic record in the course, 25% discount for the next two best records, and 10% discount for the fourth best record. Eligibility: must be enrolled in ESO or 1st Bachillerato during the convoc year and must be a student of Colegio Europeo de Madrid. Disciplinary: no grave or very grave faults during the convoc year. Economic: if a family has special conditions, the school will choose the best option; these discounts are not cumulative or transferable. Academic requirements: • 1st ESO (PAI): be among the four best records for the course, with a minimum grade of 5 in any subject; all subjects must have been passed in the first call; three foreign languages are studied. • 2nd ESO to 1st Bachillerato: be among the four best records for the course, with a minimum grade of 7 in any subject; all subjects must have been passed in the first call; three foreign languages are studied (except for 4th ESO, which requires three languages or two languages and Technology). Tie-breakers: (a) greater number of subjects with final grade Matrícula de Honor; if tied, continue with grades 10, 9, 8, etc.; (b) more siblings enrolled in the school; (c) in case of persistent ties, the faculty decides by simple majority with the director's casting vote if needed. Procedure: after final June grades are submitted, scholarships are awarded based on the stated criteria; once the list of scholarship recipients is published, appeals may be lodged within 15 natural days; scholarships are awarded for the following academic year; if a family declines, the scholarship is declared void; the school reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship for non-compliance with commitments. If a family does not want their child to participate, they must notify in writing before the end of May in the convocatoria year. Participation implies consent to publish the resolution with the recipient's name and image. Commitments of the scholarship recipient: no subject may be failed during the scholarship period; maintain appropriate behavior with no grave or very grave faults; participate in external academic competitions on behalf of Colegio Europeo de Madrid; failure to meet commitments leads to revocation of the scholarship.
