Billing schedule and payment terms
- Term dates (composition used for invoicing): 1st Term 1 September–31 December; 2nd Term 1 January–31 March; 3rd Term 1 April–3 July. Ongoing term remains fully payable in case of cancellation during that term. - Invoicing may be issued annually or on a term basis; the school issues invoices that include tuition and additional billed items. For returning students a down payment is required before re‑enrolment deadlines (amounts and deadlines specified at re‑enrolment). - Payment schedules accepted for tuition by SEPA direct debit (preferred): - Single annual debit on the specified June due date; or - Two instalments (June 1 and December 1 as per the published schedule); or - Nine monthly instalments (June to February as per the published schedule). SEPA direct debit is preferred from a French or eligible European account; bank charges for foreign transfers are the payer's responsibility. - Other tuition payment methods: cash (within French legal cash limits), bank transfer (per the invoicing schedule). Cheques or credit card are accepted only for certain items (extracurricular activities, holiday courses, travel, application fees). Rejected direct debits or cheques incur administrative fees unless remedied quickly. Late payment interest and penalty charges apply for overdue invoices.
Boarding
- Mougins British International School does not list any boarding provision or boarding fees; the school's fees and conditions cover day‑school services (meals, uniforms, extracurricular activities) and additional optional items billed separately.
Other costs and optional fees
- Canteen (lunch) fee (Primary and Secondary): Annual €1,725; canteen badge (new students): €15; occasional meal price: €12. Canteen fees are invoiced with tuition and are not refundable if a pupil does not consume meals. - Laptop programme (Year 6–13): School‑prepared laptop for Years 6–11 approx. €700 (including insurance); Year 12–13 students may buy or bring their own device (registration required). - Optional annual PTA contribution (voluntary): €150. School trips and extra‑curricular activities will incur additional charges; an example annual estimate for some trips is listed in the optional fees section and specific trip costs are invoiced when organised (large residential trips are charged separately). - EAL (English as an Additional Language) and Learning Support (RISE) programmes have specified cycle prices depending on level and hours; these are additional to tuition and are invoiced per cycle or term as applicable. Example cycle & annual totals for EAL levels are shown in the school's fees schedule. - Uniforms and sports kits are purchased separately via the school uniform shop; the school invoices other optional activity charges separately. A one‑off book deposit for Years 7–13 (€200) is refundable on return of books in good condition.
Refunds, cancellation and early‑departure rules
- Application fee: refundable only if the school is informed of cancellation by registered letter within 15 calendar days following receipt of payment. Excellence Fund and registration fees are non‑refundable. - Re‑enrolment deposit: families must meet re‑enrolment payment conditions; a specified down payment is required at re‑enrolment and is deducted from annual tuition when paid. The down payment may be refunded only in specific, limited circumstances set out in the school's terms (for example, where the school itself changes the proposed educational arrangements or in limited transfer cases). - Early departure: parents must give 90 days' (three months') written notice by registered letter; any ongoing school term remains fully payable. Failure to provide the required notice will render the next term due except in justified, legitimate circumstances. - Canteen fees are not refundable for pupil absence (even with a medical certificate). Refunds of other optional items (such as trips) depend on the specific activity terms and the timing; where the school cancels arrangements or changes provision to services not offered by the school, previously paid tuition or deposits may be refunded in line with the school's cancellation clauses.
Penalties & charges
- Late payment interest is charged at the legal rate plus two percentage points, together with a 10% late payment penalty on unpaid invoices; debt‑recovery fees apply for escalation of non‑payment (fixed fees for successive dunning steps and a bailiff fee). A fee is charged for rejected direct debits or unpaid cheques; the school may suspend services or terminate the contract for non‑payment.
Important practical notes on invoicing and timing
- For students enrolling mid‑term, fees are charged pro rata by month; however the month in which a student begins is invoiced in full.

Late payments incur a 5% charge on each overdue instalment from the day following the due date. The student's place may be withdrawn for non-payment of instalments. - Enrolment is for the full school year and school fees are payable on a whole-year basis; the school calculates fees pro rata only for admissions during the year according to the published terms.
Boarding fees - Boarding is not offered. There are no boarding fees because the school does not provide boarding facilities or residency arrangements.

Refund and withdrawal policy - Application, registration and Capital Development Fund fees are non-refundable. Annual school fees are non-refundable for cancelled enrolment, withdrawal, or early departure; the school's terms state that, under the published conditions, school fees will not be refunded for cancelled enrolment, withdrawal, or early departure.
Fee payment options and invoicing - Payments are accepted by bank transfer to the school's account and by cheque drawn on a bank based in Monaco or France where permitted; the school provides bank account details on invoices. Cash payments and credit-card payments are not accepted under the school's published payment conditions. The school may require identification and supporting documentation for third-party or corporate payments.
Included notes - The figures above are the published one-time fees, annual tuition fees, instalment breakdowns and the main payment and refund terms for the current academic-year fee schedule.

Admissions
The school teaches the English National Curriculum to students aged 3 to 18. The school follows a four-step admissions process: 1. Meet with us (book a visit or meeting); 2) Provide information (submit the required documents); 3) Review by Admissions Committee (your child's file is assessed); 4) Secure your place (upon successful review). If you have already decided to register, bring your child's passport and latest school report, and complete the application form to start registration. Applications for September 2026 are open, and the school operates a rolling admissions policy with spaces allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The minimum age is 3 and children are placed in year groups by age as of September 1; a year group equivalence guide can be downloaded. Documentation required to start the process includes your child's passport and latest school report. There is an application fee. After submission, the Admissions Committee reviews the file; final decisions are typically provided within 14 working days, though this timeline may be extended for SEN or EAL needs or if a reference check from the current school is delayed.
Admissions
1. Submit an application. ISM accepts applications without discrimination of gender, race, religion or nationality, from all parents committed to international education. The school rarely allows exceptions to admission, ensuring the learning environment remains appropriate for all students. 2. Review and selection. The Head of Admissions, the Director and teachers review the applicant's school reports and other documentation requested by the Admissions Office to determine suitability. For Kindergarten to Year 6, readiness is assessed for a bilingual English–French programme; for Year 7 to 11, readiness is assessed for an English-language programme leading to IGCSE and IB Diploma examinations. 3. Admission decision. A place is offered to eligible applicants where a place is available. The Admissions Office communicates the offer and the family completes enrollment steps as required. If no place is available, applicants are notified accordingly.
