Curriculum details
The school is a private independent bilingual (English/French) primary school for pupils aged 3 to 10. Pupils are taught English and French on a parity schedule. It teaches both the National Curriculum of England and the Education Nationale French program. Two pedagogic coordinators build bridges between the two curricula and ensure teaching plans are logical and appropriate. Year groups are small, with around 20 pupils per age group. The curriculum uses cross-curricular projects and project-based teaching, and organises many school outings to support learning.
Curriculum details
The Stewart Bilingual School teaches a dual British and French curriculum: the National Curriculum of England and the Education Nationale French program. From pre-school through the end of the primary cycle, the school combines the most valuable elements of each curriculum in a bespoke program. Each class has two qualified teachers, one English and one French, as well as a teaching assistant. Lessons are taught in the morning in one language and in the afternoon in the other, giving equal hours to each curriculum. The curriculum emphasizes reading, writing and numeracy with cross-curricular work in science, history, geography and arts, and aims for accelerated progress and a thorough grasp of fundamental skills. Small class sizes and a varied programme of extra-curricular activities support the learning experience.
