Application fees
- There is no separate application fee for Pre‑IB or the two‑year IB Diploma admissions through the school's application procedures.
Tuition fees (by year / term / year group)
- Kolding Gymnasium is a state‑funded day school; there is no annual or termly tuition charged to students as part of normal enrolment in STX, HF or the IB Diploma Programme.
- Charges apply only for optional services, extracurricular activities, study trips, retake examinations and specific consumables or equipment listed below (these are itemised by type and typical cost).
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Fitness room: Annual fee DKK 400; students joining on 1 January pay a half‑year fee of DKK 200. Payment is collected on an annual schedule (the fee is charged for the school year).
- Lockers: Rental DKK 150 per school year; billed per school year.
- Photocopying/printing: Each student is allocated 400 “clips” per year; additional clips are purchasable at DKK 1 per clip with a minimum purchase of 25 clips. Purchases are made from the school office as needed.
- Excursions and study trips: Students normally meet their own costs. Typical charges are:
- One‑day excursions: around DKK 100.
- 2–3 day excursions or elective course trips: typically DKK 500–1,000.
- Major study trips (2nd/3rd year): up to DKK 4,600. Payment timing follows the trip organiser's schedule and is normally collected in advance of departure.
- IB retake examinations (November/May sessions): full payment is required before registration; registration closing dates and staged late fees apply. The school's retake fee schedule (examples) includes:
- Administration fee (per retake session): DKK 2,250 (covers coordination and access to a textbook).
- Standard exam registration fee (per subject): DKK 1,250 (applies for standard on‑time registration).
- Late fee 1 (per subject, additional): DKK 250 (applies within specified late window).
- Late fee 2 / further late charges (per subject) for later registration windows: examples shown at DKK 950 or DKK 1,200 depending on the registration date.
- Diploma courier (if the school must post an IB certificate by registered post): DKK 200.
- Teacher support (optional, paid): DKK 400 per hour (where offered).
- Retake fees must be paid before a candidate is entered for the exam; once paid the retake fees are normally non‑refundable. The administration fee is refundable only in the specific case where a KG student passes the Diploma Programme in their first retake session (other refund exceptions are not offered).
Boarding / accommodation fees
- Kolding Gymnasium is a day school (no boarding facilities); therefore there are no boarding fees charged by the school.
Other costs or typical additional fees
- Fitness room access: DKK 400 per year (see billing schedule above).
- Lockers: DKK 150 per year.
- Photocopying/printing: extra clips at DKK 1 per clip, minimum 25 clips.
- Calculators and dictionaries: students must pay for their own calculators/dictionaries; the school offers bulk purchases for calculators at the start of the year.
- Excursions/study trips: see ranges above (DKK 100 to DKK 4,600 depending on trip length and destination).
- IB retake and exam‑related costs: administration fee, per‑subject registration fees, late fees, courier and optional teacher support as listed above.
- Event ticketing / small student activities: some school events and performances are cashless and may require MobilePay or card; for example, tickets sold at the door for school musical events accept MobilePay.
Refund information
- Retake exam fees: once paid, retake fees are generally non‑refundable. The administration fee (DKK 2,250) will be refunded to a KG student only if that student passes the Diploma Programme in their first retake session; otherwise the administration fee is not refundable. If a student changes their mind after payment, the fees are non‑refundable.
- Other small item refunds (e.g., returned photocopy clips or locker refunds) are not specified publicly; payment for consumables and optional services is treated as final unless the school office states otherwise at the point of sale.
Fee payment options and practical payment notes
- Canteen and many on‑site purchases: card and MobilePay only (the school operates a cashless canteen).
- Locker booking: handled through the locker booking portal referenced by the school (Mylocker) and billed per school year.
- Retake exam payments and other admin fees: the retake process requires payment before registration and asks candidates to forward proof (a payment screenshot) to the IB coordinator when payment has been made; fees are noted as including banking charges in the published examples. Specific account or portal details are provided during the registration process.
- Photocopy/clip purchases and similar small payments: purchased from the school office; payment methods are handled at point of sale by the administration office.
