1. Rolling admissions. GMIS Jakarta enrolls students throughout the academic year for all grades. The GMIS serves the educational needs of the national and international community in Indonesia. Admission is open to all students who, in the school's opinion, will benefit from a challenging, international, English-language education, which prepares them for higher education and a life of challenge, change, and purpose.
2. Non-discrimination and placement. The school accepts students without discrimination of gender, race, religion or nationality. Admissions decisions are based on academic, personal, social, and emotional aspects of a student's school record. In accordance with published regulations, GMIS reserves the right to dismiss or ask that a student be withdrawn if: the student's best interests and needs cannot be met effectively by the school's programs and services; the student's behavior jeopardizes the welfare of the GMIS fraternity; educationally significant information is withheld from the school; school fees are not paid in accordance with GMIS Financial Regulation.
3. Language and ESL. Presently GMIS accepts students in any grade, at any English-language proficiency level. The ESL provision is explained to parents and students during admissions. During the admissions process, a language profile is begun for each student and is used to determine ESL support.
4. Age and testing. A child must be three years old to qualify for admission to Pre-primary. Admission into subsequent grades is determined on the basis of the student's performance. Prospective students are required to take an entrance test in English and Math, which is an important indicator of grade level. In addition to the admission form, prospective families receive a checklist of necessary information needed at the time of admission.
5. Documents and school year. Documents required on registration for admission include: Application Form; Birth Certificate or copy of Passport; Privacy Form; PYP General Regulations; IB-PYP Information for Parents; Test score sheet; Fee receipt. The school year is divided into two semesters. The first semester begins in mid-July, with a four-week break between December and January. The second semester runs from January to May.

The SPH Breakthrough Scholarships provide full or partial tuition support for Indonesian students with strong academic, leadership, and character potential. 1. Entry to ISJ is non-selective for Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Reception. Admission to Year 1 and above is by assessment. Applications can be submitted up to two years in advance. 2. Visit the School. Prospective families are encouraged to visit ISJ before applying. Tours allow viewing the campus, meeting staff, observing lessons, and asking questions about curriculum, pastoral care, and school life. Tours are arranged on weekdays during term time. 3. Submit Application. Complete and return the Application Form along with the required documents. The Application Fee is IDR 4,680,000 and must be paid for the application to be processed. Applications can be submitted up to two years in advance. The school reviews the submission and begins processing once the fee is paid. 4. Assessment. For pupils applying to Year 1 and above, age-appropriate entrance assessments are conducted to understand academic readiness, learning potential, and personal qualities such as curiosity and focus. Assessments are conducted in a relaxed, supportive environment, either individually or in small groups. Entry to Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Reception is non-selective. 5. Admissions Decision. Following assessment, the family is notified of the decision in writing.
