Billing schedule and payment terms

- Tuition is presented and invoiced on a trimester basis (1st trim Sep–Dec, 2nd trim Jan–Apr, 3rd trim May–Jun). Each trimester amount and the annual total are published in the school's fee schedule.
- The school's financial regulations specify invoicing and payment modalities, including periodicity options and measures in case of non‑payment; bank charges are borne by the family.
- Families arriving during a trimester benefit from a prorated reduction of tuition according to date of arrival. LFIGE is a private establishment approved by AEFE and is legally a non-profit association of parents of students (APE – LFIGE). The APE is governed by a Board of Directors and the General Assembly, which is the supreme body; the Board, commissions (Finance, HR and Communications, Infrastructure, IT and Security, Canteen, Solidarity Fund, After-school, External Communication and Events Club), and other bodies oversee management and governance; the school council, class representatives and CESCE participate in governance, with coordination by the head of the establishment and the administrative/financial director.

History

Created in 1979 by a group of parent volunteers, the Lycée Français International Gustave Eiffel began operating in the SCAC garage for primary and at parents' homes for secondary. In 1984 it bought a former Portuguese school, consolidating 65 pupils on a single site, while the kindergarten continued in two huts on land donated by the French Consul. The school was homologated by the French Ministry of Education for primary classes in 1989, and AEFE signed a convention in 1991. With AEFE support and its own funds, the Parents Association built a new building in 1993, and expansion followed through the 1990s, with the current facilities opening in 2002. In 2016 the school became Lycée Gustave Eiffel – Ecole Française Internationale de Maputo, and in September 2020 achieved full homologation for the entire school from preschool to terminale.

Community

The school is a place of linguistic and cultural exchange, enrolling students from more than 40 nationalities in a family‑style, warm environment from kindergarten to the baccalaureate. Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The Lycée Français International Gustave Eiffel is governed by an Association of Parents of Students (APE), a non‑profit organization. All parents are members of the APE, their dues paid as part of registration. The Association is administered by a Board of Directors. Its role and the regulatory framework for the administrative and financial management of the school are defined by the APE statutes. The Board oversees the school's administration in compliance with Mozambican law and AEFE recommendations. The Board is responsible for administrative and financial management, including the budget, cash‑flow forecasts, accounts, inventories and financial statements, signing all contracts and commitments, and the acquisition of real estate and disposal of movable property.

Bilingual Teaching

From 2026, the Lyce9e Français International Gustave Eiffel offers the Bac Français International (BFI) bilingual (French, Portuguese). Admissions

The school follows a three-step enrolment process. Step 1: The first step is online administrative Enrolment via the EDUKA platform. Create a 'parents' account, fill in personal details, attach the requested documents, and send the Enrolment file. The School Code is 58187. From the Grande section of kindergarten, if the student does not come from an approved French school, an entry test is required and a family meeting will be organized. Step 2: An admissions committee within the school reviews the files of all students. After the committee's opinion, parents receive an email informing them of the decision. Completing the registration form does not guarantee admission. Step 3: If the decision is favorable, parents pay the registration fees and the deposit within the time limits to proceed with final registration. The final registration is confirmed after payment of the first registration fee and the deposit. Enrollment remains subject to the third-quarter report confirming progression to the next year group; in the event of withdrawal, the first registration fees are not refunded.

Scholarships

A school grant is an educational aid awarded to French families who apply at the Consulate, subject to resource conditions. It can be partial or total (tuition fees, half-board, transport, etc.). The scholarship campaign for a school year starts in February of the preceding school year. All information is available via the French Embassy in Mozambique.
