Application fees
- There is no application or admission fee to apply for a regular place at Elverum videregående skole (public upper secondary).
Tuition fees (by school year / per term)
- Tuition for all year groups (Vg1, Vg2, Vg3) is NOK 0 per term and NOK 0 per year for students with youth entitlement at a public videregående skole; public upper-secondary education is provided without school tuition charges.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Elev-PC (bærbar PC) own contribution: When a pupil chooses an elev‑PC from the county, an annual own contribution is charged. For the 2026/2027 school year the annual own contribution is NOK 1,497; the own contribution is billed once per year in the autumn to the person over 18 who signed the PC agreement. You pay the own contribution each year for up to three years; after three paid years the student may keep the PC. If the pupil leaves school early there are clear rules for taking over the PC or returning it and for payment of remaining own contributions.
- Private-candidate (privatist) exam fees: Private‑candidate exam fees are charged per exam and must be paid at registration. Current standard rates are NOK 1,403 for an exam where the subject has not been passed previously and NOK 2,808 if the candidate already has a grade and asks for an improvement; paid exam fees are not refunded if the candidate withdraws or postpones. Payment for privatisteksamener is made by bank card or credit card (Visa/Mastercard) at registration.
- Replacement and damage charges: The school charges the actual replacement cost for lost or damaged loaned learning materials (textbooks, other læremidler). If such replacement invoices are not paid on time the claim can be referred to collection (inkasso). For county‑issued elev‑PC there is a per‑incident own charge for repair or replacement (NOK 500 per incident for repair/erstatningsmaskin where warranty/guarantee does not apply).
- Skoleskyss (travel) charges and card replacement: Where a student's approved travel requires a physical travel card, a new/ replacement card may be charged (for example, a lost skysskort is charged NOK 150). Rules on free travel entitlement and when charges apply are set by the county's skyss regulations.
Boarding / internat fees (if applicable)
- The school does not operate tuition‑based boarding with published boarding fees. Students who must live away from home to attend school may apply for state and county support for borteboere (borteboerstipend and regional tilleggsstipend); Innlandet fylkeskommune administers an additional stipend for eligible students and also covers a period‑card travel contribution currently set at NOK 240 per month as part of the support. Application deadlines for county tilleggsstipend are published for the school year (examples: 2 October 2026 and 1 February 2027 for the 2026/2027 year).
Other costs or fees
- Program‑specific equipment and materials: Some study programmes require specific individual equipment, tools or protective clothing (for example vocational subjects). Costs for personally required tools or specialised equipment are typically the responsibility of the pupil/parent and are charged or arranged separately according to the programme. The elev‑PC scheme and program‑specific PC classes are examples where hardware classification (standard, medium, high‑end) is determined by programme.
- Optional activities and extras: Optional study trips, certain extracurricular courses, voluntary exams as a private candidate, and similar extras can carry fees charged individually. Parents should expect charges for lost/damaged school property, optional course materials, and any third‑party services (e.g., some excursions or voluntary external course suppliers).
- Uniforms: There is no general school uniform programme with a schoolwide uniform fee for Elverum videregående skole; specific programmes or specialised training (if any) may require protective clothing or program‑specific attire which is charged where applicable.
Refund information
- Private‑candidate exam fees are non‑refundable after payment if a candidate withdraws or postpones.
- Elev‑PC: If a pupil discontinues training before completing the payment period, the pupil has the right to overtake the PC by paying remaining own contributions; if the pupil does not want to overtake the PC it must be returned. If the pupil leaves after 1 October they remain liable for that school year's own contribution.
- Other refunds: Refunds or credits for cancelled optional activities, excursions or similar are handled case‑by‑case according to the activity organiser's terms; charges for lost or damaged loaned learning materials are billed as replacement costs and are not refundable. Unpaid debts may be forwarded to collection.
Fee payment options and practical payment notes
- Exam (privatist) payments: by bank card or credit card (Visa/Mastercard) when registering for the exam.
- Invoices from the county (e.g., elev‑PC own contributions, replacement charges) are sent to the named invoice recipient; elev‑PC invoices are issued once per year in the autumn to the signer of the PC agreement. Municipal and county invoices are commonly delivered and payable digitally (eFaktura, AvtaleGiro, Vipps or traditional bank transfer depending on the invoicing/collection solution), and standard payment deadlines and reminder/collection procedures apply if invoices are not paid by the due date.
