Instructs in Finnish
The Moscow Finnish School provides Finnish-language basic education (perusopetusta) for Finnish-speaking children living in Moscow, following the Finnish national curriculum and the Finnish Basic Education Act. Instruction is conducted in Finnish, with small class sizes that support individualized learning and active student engagement. The school operates on Leninskiy Prospekt 78a, in a fenced, guarded campus shared with neighboring international schools, and features a library, a kitchen/cafeteria, a gym, outdoor sports areas, and a winter ice rink. A Mossula daycare within the same building helps maintain Finnish language and culture for younger children. The campus promotes a home-like, village-school atmosphere and places strong emphasis on community, cooperation with the Finnish Embassy, and a traditional recess culture encouraging inclusive play. Established in 1965, it is the oldest Finnish school in Russia and remains the only Finnish school currently operating in the country, delivering continuity for families abroad, within a multilingual, supportive community.
