Asturias has a small, region-level selection of international and strongly bilingual schools concentrated around the Oviedo - Gijón - Avilés corridor, so choice is far smaller than in Madrid or Barcelona but covers British and IB pathways alongside bilingual Spanish schools. English - Spanish bilingual provision is the norm at these schools, with some offering additional modern languages and international exam routes (IGCSE/A-Level or the IB Diploma); a few schools explicitly combine the Spanish national curriculum with an international programme. Annual fees for private international options in Asturias typically start in the low thousands of euros for early years and commonly rise into the mid-five-figure range for older years (many local profiles show approximate ranges of about €5,000 - €11,000 a year). Admissions for state and concertado schools follow the Principality of Asturias’ central calendar in spring (applications and provisional lists in March - May with formal enrolment in June), while private and international schools run their own application processes (visits, forms, interviews and occasional entrance assessments) and recruit for the September intake; expect to contact schools several months ahead.
