Application fees
- There is no application fee for local/resident students applying to attend Roosevelt International Middle School (including its French pathway). Roosevelt participates in district enrollment processes and does not require a paid application to register resident students.
Tuition fees (by student type and school year / per term)
- Resident (in-district) students: No tuition is charged for attendance in any grade or term; instruction for resident students is provided without tuition.
- Non‑resident / international (F‑1) students: Tuition may be charged and, where law authorizes it, is set equal to the full unsubsidized per‑capita cost of providing education for the period of attendance. Such tuition for nonresident/foreign students is assessed under the district's permissible fee rules. Billing for any tuition charged to nonresident students is calculated for the applicable attendance period.
- Per term / per year breakdown: For resident students there is no per‑term or per‑year tuition charge. For any nonresident or F‑1 student, tuition is assessed as a full per‑capita amount for the applicable enrollment period (the district determines the applicable per‑pupil amount and billing period).
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Optional program or materials charges (where permitted by law) are billed per program, per trip, or per session depending on the activity (for example, field trip fees or optional community classes). When a charge is permitted, families are provided the amount and the due date for that specific program. Permissible fees must include provisions so that no student is prevented from participation because of inability to pay.
- After‑school enrichment and outside‑funded program billing: optional enrichment classes and special offerings run on semester/session schedules and are billed according to the session enrollment and registration dates for each program. Session registration windows and payment deadlines are set for each offering. RooFriends (the school's supporting nonprofit) runs many ASE offerings with specific registration periods and session billing.
Boarding fees
- Not applicable. Roosevelt International Middle School is a neighborhood public day middle school; it does not offer boarding.
Other costs and common payable items
- PE uniforms, spirit wear, and similar optional school apparel: Students are required to wear the official P.E. uniform for Physical & Health Education; families may purchase uniforms and spirit apparel through the school's approved apparel channels or the school store. Uniforms and spirit‑wear purchases are one‑time or occasional expenses as needed.
- Yearbook, replacement ID cards, combination locks, and lost/damaged book replacement: These items may carry one‑time charges; they are sold or collected through the school Financial Office and are billed or payable at the time of purchase.
- Field trips, school camps, and optional excursions: Fees for field trips or school camps that are legally permissible are charged to cover direct program costs. No student may be prevented from participating for inability to pay; hardship/waiver provisions apply.
- After‑school enrichment (ASE) and similar extracurricular offerings: Some ASE classes are offered at no cost through RooFriends' funding; other specialty or vendor‑led classes may carry per‑student fees (session fees vary by class and are set per session). Typical enrichment class fees (when applicable) are charged per session and generally fall within program‑specified ranges.
Refund information
- Refunds depend on the type of paid program or purchase. For optional, program‑level charges (for example paid enrichment classes or private vendor activities), refund, cancellation and transfer rules follow the terms of that specific program or the nonprofit/organizer running it. For district‑collected permissible charges, the district's fee rules and the program's stated refund policy apply; programs must not condition participation on payment where law prohibits mandatory charges.
Fee payment options
- School Financial Office (on‑campus purchases and one‑time items): Acceptable forms of payment at the Roosevelt Financial Office include cash, money order and checks payable to Roosevelt I.B. Middle School for items sold through the school (uniforms, yearbooks, IDs, replacement items).
- Online payments and third‑party organizers: RooFriends and approved online apparel or spiritwear stores accept online payments (credit/debit card or online donation processors) for donations, enrichment registrations, apparel and similar purchases. Individual programs and external vendors may accept credit cards, online payment processors, or direct payment at time of registration.
- District electronic payment systems and card processing: The district has implemented and transitioned through electronic credit‑card processing systems and parent portals for fee collection and online payments; families may encounter district or program portals for card payments depending on the charge. For school financial office in‑person transactions, checks, money orders and cash are explicitly accepted.
Notes parents should expect when paying fees
- Most charges at Roosevelt are optional or otherwise permitted by law; mandatory tuition is only applicable for legally authorized nonresident enrollments (for example certain foreign/F‑1 students). No application fee or routine tuition is charged to resident students. Permissible charges must not bar participation for students who cannot pay and typically include hardship/waiver provisions. Payments for school‑sold items in the Financial Office are accepted by cash, money order or check; many outside vendors and the school nonprofit accept online card payments.
Food / meal charges for 2026–27
- School breakfast and lunch are provided under district meal policy; for the 2026–27 school year, district communications indicate no charge for standard breakfast and lunch offerings.
