Introduction

Escola Andorrana de Batxillerat offers the Batxillerat Internacional (IB Diploma Programme) within a bespoke pre-university curriculum for students aged 16 to 18. Located in La Margineda, Andorra la Vella, the campus was expanded in 2021, adding a soundproof music room, four classrooms, two meeting rooms, a covered 420-square-meter courtyard and upgraded bathrooms. The Diploma Programme can be pursued in full or with selected Higher Level and Standard Level subjects, taught in Catalan and English to strengthen multilingual competencies. Core IB components such as Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) and a student-led PAS project support personal growth, civic participation and initiative beyond the timetable. The school's Artistic Department supports artistic pathways with dedicated resources and subject grids for 2026-2027. Subjects emphasize languages, culture, scientific methodology and ICT, guiding students toward university or professional pathways while integrating academics with personal development and civic engagement. The school forms part of the IB network.

Governance and Ownership

Public center run by the Government of Andorra as part of the Principality's public education system.
Fees
Application fees
- There is no routine one‑time application or tuition charge for enrolment of resident students at the Escola Andorrana de Batxillerat; the Escola Andorrana is part of Andorra's public education system, which operates as a public, free schooling system.

Tuition fees by school year (per term / per year)
- Day tuition: No standard annual or per‑term tuition is charged to families for the core Batxillerat (post‑compulsory secondary) programme for students enrolled in the public Escola Andorrana de Batxillerat. The Andorran public schooling budget covers the regular instructional programme.
- External/optional programme charges: Certain non‑core items that are not part of the state‑funded instruction (for example external examination/assessment charges for international programmes, optional short courses or externally certified tests) are invoiced separately when applicable; families are charged for those specific items on an as‑required basis. The school implements the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) for post‑16 students; associated IB assessment or candidate fees are charged separately to DP candidates according to IB policy and the school's billing practice.

Billing schedule and payment terms
- Billing for the Escola Andorrana de Batxillerat follows the public‑school and programme practice: compulsory instruction is funded through the Government and is not invoiced as recurring tuition to families. Fees for optional services, external examinations (IB candidature/assessment), trips or extra activities are invoiced separately; these invoices specify payment deadlines and accepted methods. When the IB programme is used, IB candidate/assessment charges are normally billed in the year(s) of candidature and must be paid before external registration deadlines.

Boarding fees (if applicable)
- The Escola Andorrana de Batxillerat is listed as a day post‑secondary (batxillerat) centre and does not operate an on‑site boarding/residential facility as part of the school's standard provision. Consequently there are no school boarding fees billed by this centre. Families who require off‑site student accommodation must make private arrangements and meet those costs directly.

Other costs and fees (typical items parents should expect to pay)
- Transport: School transport is an optional, charged service when used; the Government publishes the annual terms, routes and fees for school transport and sets the timetable and price edicts each year. Families who use school transport are billed according to the yearly edict and pay the published fare for the chosen service.
- Meals / canteen: School meal (menjador) charges apply where families use the cafeteria service; meal fees are set under the system of public prices and are billed separately. Means‑tested meal and transport subsidies are available by application under the state student‑aid rules.
- IB assessment / examination fees: Diploma Programme candidates incur IB registration and examination (assessment) fees which are invoiced separately by the school in line with IB schedule and rates; these fees vary by the number of subjects and whether the candidate takes full DP or certificates.
- Textbooks, learning materials and equipment: Textbooks, photocopies, specialist materials (science, art, technical subjects), calculators and personal supplies are commonly charged to families either as direct purchase costs or as refundable/non‑refundable deposits. These charges are invoiced when required for the course. (If a refundable deposit system is used it will be described on the invoice.)
- Trips and extracurricular activities: Day trips, residential trips, sports competitions and optional extracurricular activities are billed separately and require parental payment and consent.
- Uniforms: No universal boarding‑style uniform charge is listed as part of the Escola Andorrana public school provision; if the school runs a local uniform requirement (or certain items such as PE kit) these items are purchased by families and invoiced or sold through the school when applicable.

Refund information
- Refunds follow the specific policy for the billed item: mandatory state‑funded instruction is not billed and therefore not refundable; optional services (transport, meals, extracurriculars), external exam fees and trip payments are subject to the school's and/or service provider's refund and cancellation rules as stated on the relevant invoice or event notice. For IB and other external exam registrations, any refund or partial reimbursement depends on the external awarding body rules and timing of cancellation; the school's invoice will state whether a particular payment is refundable.

Fee payment options
- Payment options for any invoiced items typically include bank transfer and the payment methods set out on the school invoice. For IB and external assessment fees the school will publish the acceptable payment method and deadline on the invoice; common practice is bank transfer or payment through the school cashier/payment portal. For government‑run services (transport, subsidised meal programmes) the payment route and deadlines follow the annual edict and the terms on the invoice/notice. Specific card acceptance, online portal or in‑person cashier availability is indicated on each invoice or invoice‑covering communication from the school or the responsible administrative service.

Summary of availability of published fee figures
- Escola Andorrana de Batxillerat operates within Andorra's public, state‑funded Escola Andorrana system and does not publish a standard per‑year/per‑term tuition table for resident students because core instruction is publicly funded and not invoiced as tuition. Mandatory published fees that families encounter are therefore limited to optional services (transport, meals), external examination/IB assessment fees, and variable items such as trips, materials and extracurriculars. The Government issues the annual edict(s) that fix transport and certain service prices; IB assessment fees are billed per candidate and per subject in accordance with IB tariffs. For specific invoice amounts (for transport routes, meal pricing, IB candidature and any optional activity charges) the school or the relevant administrative edict publishes the exact figures at the time of invoicing or in the yearly service edict.

EducAND-Campus is the virtual teaching environment that the Government of Andorra provides for all schools in the country and, by extension, for all members of the educational community. It is developed using the open-source Moodle platform as its technological base, and Educ& aims to be an additional resource available to educators. It is a space that allows teachers to host all materials suitable for their subject: create activities, establish links, include forums, carry out collaborative work with Wikis, receive assignments from students, develop tests, promote debates, and obtain assessment statistics. All of this is designed to enable learning activities and help students achieve the proposed objectives.

The total cost of the works was around 2.2 million euros.

Academic Facilities

The academic facilities include a soundproof music room and four new classrooms, among the seven added spaces. Two meeting rooms for around ten people were created, and the old building gained a second staff room. Extra Curricular Facilities

PAS (Participation, Action and Service) provides a framework of experiences that allows students to address challenges based on their interests and motivation. It aims to develop transversal competences, personal growth, interpersonal skills and initiative and entrepreneurship. The project is proposed and designed by the student and can involve direct service to people, the environment, or indirect actions such as producing materials or promoting a cause. It runs outside the regular timetable over the two years of batxillerat, with a tutor who validates and monitors the project. Completing PAS is a requirement for the Batxillerat diploma. Creativitat, Activitat i Servei (CAS) is a core component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme; it focuses on creativity, activity and service. The Escola Andorrana de Batxillerat offers the Batxillerat Internacional (IB Diploma Programme). The programme includes courses in Catalan and English among others.
