The Diploma Programme consists of six subject groups: Studies in Language and Literature; Language Acquisition; Individuals & Societies; Sciences; Mathematics; and The Arts. The Diploma Programme core includes Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS). Teaching is underpinned by the IB Approaches to Teaching and Learning, and staff receive official IB training to support reflective, independent learners and globally minded citizens.
The IB Diploma Programme includes The Arts as one of the six subject groups. An extensive After School Activities program offers a range of creative and engaging options beyond the classroom, including board games, cooking, and language lessons. Secondary Clubs provide opportunities for student-led creative projects and broader participation in school life.
The language of instruction is English. Catalan, Spanish and French are taught to all students from Early Years through Year 9; Catalan remains compulsory after Year 9, while Spanish and French become optional to allow more time for English development. The school has a multilingual community and provides English as an Additional Language (EAL) support.
An extensive program of after-school activities is planned each term to enrich and extend the curriculum. Activities range from sports to board games, cooking, and additional language lessons, encouraging students to try new things and engage with peers. The Secondary Clubs programme offers a variety of clubs and leadership opportunities, with trips and assemblies.
The school is recognised as UNICEF Escola Amiga UNICEF, incorporating rights-based education and UNICEF resources into the curriculum. BCA is an Eco-School (Escola Verda), forming Eco Committees and developing sustainability plans integrated into learning. Plant for the Planet is supported, and student actions promote environmental and social responsibility.
Secondary Clubs include student leadership roles and opportunities for student-led initiatives, fostering leadership and teamwork. The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (Bronze, Silver, Gold) is offered to develop volunteering, skills, physical capacity, and outdoor leadership, with local and international trip opportunities.
The Ski Programme runs January through March, with weekly lessons delivered by qualified instructors. Skiing supports physical fitness, coordination, stamina, social and emotional wellbeing, and appreciation of the natural environment. The programme aligns with Andorra's obligatory requirements for schools.
