Armenia

The school is accredited as a Cambridge international school for primary, middle and high school students. It operates as the primary, middle and high school section of the overall school, serving students from kindergarten to Grade 10. The DIS campus hosts over 120 pupils from 10 nationalities and 27 full- and part-time staff from 11 nationalities. It is co-located on the Dilijan campus with UWC Dilijan, which offers the IB Diploma Programme for the last two years of high school to about 220 students from more than 80 countries. Dilijan International School of Armenia Foundation (DISA) administers DIS as a charitable trust registered in Armenia for educational purposes, overseen by an all-volunteer Board; its governance includes UWC Dilijan.

Step 1. Two main routes exist to apply for the IB Diploma Programme at UWC Dilijan: through the UWC National Committee in the applicant's country of residence or citizenship, or through the UWC Global Selection Programme. The National Committee route is used if a grant or scholarship is required; over 80% of students selected through the National Committee system are offered financial assistance. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of need and means. You cannot apply via both routes in the same school year.

Step 2. National Committee route specifics: Apply through your local National Committee and follow its deadlines and procedures. All UWC selection processes use the six core selection criteria and may add additional criteria, including minimum grade requirements. Scholarships are available through the National Committee process. Places are awarded on merit and potential.

Step 3. Global Selection route specifics: If applying through the Global Selection Programme, register on Open Apply to receive information about the Global Selection cycle. If you want to apply to UWC Dilijan specifically, register on Open Apply and you will be emailed a link to the Global Selection Application form. Scholarships or financial assistance are not available through this route. The Global Selection schedule is set by the Global Selection Programme, so start early and plan ahead.

Step 4. Register your interest: If interested in applying for August 2026 for the Grade 11 IB Diploma Programme, complete the Registration of Interest Form. You must be 16 or 17 years old on September 1, 2026 to be eligible for 2026/27 entry. This step initiates the admissions process and prepares applicants for next steps.

Step 5. Selection criteria: All UWC selection processes are guided by six core criteria: intellectual curiosity; active commitment to UWC values; social competence; resilience, self-awareness and independence; personal responsibility and integrity; and academic robustness. Each selection committee tailors the yearly process to the local education system and may add criteria such as minimum grades.

Step 6. Scholarships: UWC Dilijan places are awarded on merit and potential, and the initial selection is needs-blind. Scholarships, both full and partial, are available through the National Committee selection process. If applying via Global Selection, scholarship opportunities are not provided through that route.
