CAS is a core part of the UWC Dilijan experience and a required element of the IB Diploma Programme. Creativity includes experiences such as Art in the Community, Ceramic with the Community, Carpentry, Film Making, Debate Club, DiliMUN, Coding, Web Programming and Robotics. Activity spans Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Girls Football, Swimming, Dance, and First Aid. Service engages the local community through Language courses in English, Russian, Chinese and Spanish; Science with the Community; Swimming for Community Members; Red Cross Club; Service in Bridge of Hope NGO; Cineclub for local kindergarten kids; and Peer-to-Peer initiatives.
The school fosters arts and creative pursuits through student ensembles and collaborative art projects. The UWCD Choir is open to students and staff with weekly rehearsals and a diverse repertoire. Bands are student-directed groups with a band room and opportunities to perform publicly at school events. Ceramics with the Community runs weekly studio sessions where UWCD students collaborate with Dilijan's youth to learn clay, painting and glazing.
Language courses are offered in English, Russian, Chinese and Spanish. Armenian history, culture and religion are introduced through trips to Matenadaran, Tsitsernakaberd, Ejmiatsin, monasteries and museums. Cultural evenings occur five times a year, focusing on different regions, with students collaborating to present and share regional experiences.
Running Club provides year-round training on campus and supports participation in events such as the Yerevan running festival. The UWCD Choir is open to all with weekly rehearsals and a diverse repertoire. Bands are student-directed groups with spaces for public performances at school events.
Since 2014 UWCD students have initiated service projects with local organizations. Examples include Dilinglish teaching English to staff children; Orran, a collaboration with the Orran NGO; the Greenhouse project; Ceramics with the Community; Science with Kids; and the Rhi-Zone sustainability initiative.
The Student Council comprises eight Toon representatives, two from each Toon and two core members selected from the whole school. The Council meets weekly and serves as the representative body for all students, coordinating with staff and leadership. Roles within the Council include a UWC Liaison, Residential Liaison, Policy Crafter, Senior Management Team Liaison, Health Liaison, Extra-curricular Liaison, Communications Manager and Meeting Facilitator.
The school has a modern, well-equipped medical centre on campus with 24-hour nursing and an on-site doctor. The medical team coordinates care with Tavush Medical Centre nearby for more serious issues and with top facilities in Yerevan when needed. The school has a full-time Psychological Counselling Service to support students and staff, offering individual counselling, group counselling, psychotherapy, group mediation and experiential activities to foster wellbeing and personal development. The on-campus dental room provides regular dental checks.
UWC Dilijan is an international boarding school in Armenia that delivers a global education across ages 3 to 18. It offers Cambridge Primary and Secondary programmes for younger students and the IB Diploma Programme (DP) for students aged 16 and above, taught in English with Armenian and Russian support for language learners. The campus spans eight hectares in Dilijan National Park, featuring facilities including Academic and Administration Building with classrooms, laboratories, a Library and Resource Centre, integrated IT, Art Studios and a Medical Centre. Boarding houses and staff accommodation are on site, with a Sports Complex containing a gym, swimming pool and a FIFA-standard football pitch, plus tennis, squash, and volleyball courts. The school emphasises service, sustainability, and hands-on learning through CAS and a broad range of clubs. It welcomed its first cohort in 2014 and marked its tenth anniversary in 2024, maintaining a diverse community drawn from fifty countries.
