The school believes student achievement is maximised by academic and emotional support provided by teachers and parents. Each year level has a coordinator and form teachers to support students and families. Counselling services are available to all students and their parents. The school runs group sessions to develop organisation skills, self-esteem, social skills and conflict resolution. Two counsellors are available to support students' emotional wellbeing.
The school recognises that students have different learning styles and educational needs. Inclusive Curriculum Programs include Programs for Students with Disabilities and Enrichment Programs. The Special Needs Program aims to enhance self-esteem, dignity and social interaction, and to provide access to a curriculum with supports to participate in mainstream classrooms. The programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of students. The Special Education provision supports both individualised and group learning.
E.S.L. (English as a second language) assists students with language difficulties resulting from non-English-speaking backgrounds. The E.S.L. provision is part of the school's inclusive learning approach.
Counselling services support students' mental wellbeing and are available to all students. The school provides dedicated wellbeing staff who deliver individual and group sessions. The School Community Safety Order Policy and Procedures address safeguarding and child protection. The policy covers physical and mental health, safety and wellbeing of staff, students and other members of the AIA community.
Australian International Academy – Coburg Campus offers an integrated Australian Curriculum alongside International Baccalaureate programmes across two campuses. King Khalid Coburg Campus delivers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Prep to Year 5, while Melbourne Senior Campus hosts the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (DP) for Years 11–12. This arrangement blends the IB approach with Australian standards to foster inquiry-based, transdisciplinary learning and prepares students for global pathways. Language and arts are emphasised, with Arabic and Turkish offered as additional languages and a Calligraphy Programme in Arabic and English. The Visual Arts program within the PYP supports Creating and Making, Exploring and Responding. The Diploma Programme includes Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS, encouraging critical thinking, research and service. The school promotes community involvement and wellbeing within a caring Islamic environment, with pastoral support, counselling and careers advice to support student development and leadership.
