Academic and Intellectual

Model United Nations (Travelling Team) engages students in authentic global issues, debate, diplomacy, and international collaboration. Robotics, Coding & Science offer inquiry-rich challenges that strengthen creativity, engineering, and problem-solving. Activities are provided by external providers and ISWA staff.

Arts and Creative

Choir provides opportunities to collaborate, build skills and grow as confident singers and performers. Creative Writing encourages expression, voice, and imaginative storytelling. Crochet Club offers a relaxed space for creativity, craftsmanship, and mindfulness.

Cultural and Language

Language learning is central to ISWA's multilingual IB curriculum, with French and Spanish offered from Kindergarten through Year 12. In the Diploma Programme, courses include Spanish Ab Initio, Spanish B, and French B. The Global Alliance Exchange Program enables secondary students to participate in exchanges with NIST International School (Bangkok), Windhoek International School (Namibia), and Annie Wright Schools (Washington), broadening intercultural understanding.

Social and Hobbies

Crochet Club offers a relaxed space for creativity and mindfulness. Choir provides opportunities to collaborate and grow as performers. Sustainability Club supports student-led action on environmental responsibility.

Community and Service

Action and service are woven throughout the IB programmes and designed to strengthen personal and interpersonal learning. Students participate in activities such as raising awareness of underprivileged communities, volunteering in the community, mentoring at co-curricular clubs, and leading whole-school events.

Leadership and Professional

Student Council includes representatives from both primary and secondary; the council meets regularly and leads assemblies, fundraising, and school initiatives. National Honor Society provides a secondary-level NHS chapter with activities including volunteering and supporting school projects. The House System offers leadership opportunities, including 16 House Captain roles.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Sport at ISWA is a vital part of developing balanced, confident, globally minded learners and promotes wellbeing, character development, and community. ISWA offers Team Sports: Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Futsal, Floorball, Touch Rugby, Netball. Individual Sports: Athletics, Swimming, Cross Country, Tennis, Badminton, Pickle Ball, Skateboarding, Karate, Surfing. The program supports inclusive participation, growth pathways, and a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

International School of Western Australia (ISWA) is an independent, non‑denominational international school in Perth, established in 2005 with Chevron's support. It is a not‑for‑profit organisation governed by the Australian Association for International Education Incorporated and is an IB World School accredited provider of the Diploma Programme alongside US College Board Advanced Placement. ISWA follows the Western Australian curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 10 and offers the IB Diploma Programme in Years 11–12, with DP subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Environmental Systems & Societies, French Ab Initio and French B, History, English Language and Literature, English Literature, Mathematics Analysis and Mathematics Applications, Physics, Spanish Ab Initio and Spanish B, Theatre Arts and Visual Arts. AP subjects include Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Economics, and US History. The 2020 relocation to 193 St Brigids Terrace, Doubleview, has created a campus that blends heritage buildings with modern facilities across Kalinda, Heritage and Village, Early Years, Arts Precinct, and a Sports Centre.
