The school offers extension and enrichment programs. Year 10 students can begin exploring the ATAR program. Co-curricular coaches and tutors support learning in performing arts, sports and activities. There are extensive co-curricular activities, competitions, incursions, excursions and camps.
The School of Performing Arts offers instrumental, choral, dance, drama and cheer. Ensembles are a year-long commitment and private instrumental and vocal tuition runs alongside co-curricular involvement. The college provides performing arts facilities including the Dame Joan Sutherland Music Centre and Stephen Bean Theatre. The co-curricular program runs from Prep to Year Twelve.
The College has a rich student exchange program with sister schools in Japan and New Zealand established in 1983 and 1984. A strategic plan aims to launch a global citizen outbound program to develop intercultural understanding. Language offerings include Spanish and Chinese.
Art is offered to Years 1–3 as a co-curricular activity. Chess is offered for Years 2–6. Coding is offered in Years 3–6. Karate is offered from Prep to Year 6.
Students volunteer in Community Care groups. The Student Leadership Program provides opportunities in councils and committees and formal leadership positions. Every student is considered a leader, representing the College through their actions and service to others daily.
The College has a progressive and dynamic leadership program based on a servant leadership model. Students develop leadership and communication skills through involvement in councils, committees and by applying for formal leadership positions. Every student is encouraged to lead through action, role modelling and service to others daily.
Academic Welfare is delivered through a sequenced K–12 Academic Welfare Program. Pastoral care and social and emotional learning underpin wellbeing. The SOARING model of Positive Education is embedded in the wellbeing program, guiding six areas of wellbeing as part of daily school life.
John Paul College is an independent co-educational day and boarding school on 33 hectares of native bushland in Daisy Hill. It delivers the Australian Curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 12, with Primary units of inquiry that foster curiosity and interdisciplinary thinking, and Secondary Years 7–10 offering broad electives to shape a personalised senior pathway from Year 11 to 12. The senior program provides about 37 subjects across QCAA, VET and TAFE routes, and a Diverse Learning Program supports inclusive education with specialist teachers; the Accelerate Excel program offers enrichment within a differentiated classroom. Digital learning is embedded, with Years 4–12 receiving personal notebook computers, Year 3 using iPads, and a campus-wide network with cybersecurity safeguards. Facilities include the Noelene Munns Learning Centre, the Dame Joan Sutherland Music Centre with the Stephen Bean Theatre, the Coleman Centre, and the Stephen Paul Aquatic Centre.
