Languages taught are Chinese (Mandarin), French, Latin, Modern Greek, Italian and Spanish. From Years 7–12 in Stanmore, Chinese, French and Latin are offered in both HSC and IB pathways, with Modern Greek Beginners in the HSC and Italian and Spanish Ab Initio in IB. Lindfield Prep teaches Chinese and Wyvern Prep teaches French, while Latin is taught in senior years with one semester in Year 11.
Exchange programs and language tours provide immersion experiences in language learning. Conversation teachers support speaking and there are opportunities for language exchange and language tours. The Languages Program offers six languages.
Newington College is an independent Uniting Church school in Sydney, Australia, offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP) alongside the Australian Curriculum.
