Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Roseville College was founded in 1908 by Miss Isobel Davies, the daughter of a retired Welsh clergyman. Seven pupils began the school in a cottage named Hinemoa, and by the end of the first year enrolment was 24. In the 1930s enrolment reached about 100, and by 1976 it had grown to 500. In the 1960s the school was purchased by what is today The Anglican Schools Corporation, securing its longer‑term future. Today the College has 1,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Community

The school is described as a community of purpose where each girl is known and valued from Preparatory to Year 12. It offers a family‑like environment where relationships support learning, wellbeing and life beyond the school gates, with a focus on a balanced education that develops physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing. Interaction across year levels on a single campus is central to the school's identity and fosters warmth within the community.

Parent-Teacher Association

The Roseville College Parent Association (RCPA) is a vibrant part of the school community. It is a volunteer group made up of parent representatives who actively engage with all parents in the Roseville College community. The RCPA operates under the authority of the Principal and is supported by the Director of Development and Community Engagement and the Community Relations Manager. The RCPA organizes events, activities and programs and holds regular meetings (generally once a term). The Class Parent Network coordinates social and friend‑raising events for each class and year group. RCPA volunteers contribute in a range of ways, including supporting education programs, extra‑curricular opportunities, marshalling and events, and providing meals for families in distress; all volunteers must have a Working With Children Check.
