An International Baccalaureate Education is offered, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). The college offers IB programmes from Pre-Prep to Year 12.
Somerset College has a proud involvement in the performing arts, with music, drama and annual musicals. Co-Curricular offers Creative Writing, Debating, Drama, Public Speaking, and Music Ensembles, with opportunities for performance and exhibition. Extra-curricular includes Music and Visual Art.

The student leadership programme is based on servant leadership. Students develop leadership skills across year levels, including peer mentoring and transition programs. Dare to Lead in Year 11 helps students reflect on leadership impact. Formal leadership positions include School Captains, Sports Captains, Performing Arts Captains and Academic Captains.
The Senior School offers over 25 sports and 520 teams. Facilities include four cricket ovals, three turf nets, two hockey astroturfs, three rugby fields, one soccer field, six tennis and netball courts, two squash courts, an indoor multi‑purpose hall and a 25 m x 27 m heated pool. The Centre of Sports Excellence provides a high‑performance cricket indoor centre and a rowing gym for year‑round skill development.
Somerset College on the Gold Coast is an independent day school offering the International Baccalaureate across the full range of grades, from Pre-Prep to Year 12.
