History

Founded in 1986 as Kingston Christian Community School by Mercy Church (now CityLight Church), Southern Christian College began with Kindergarten to Year 6 under Principal Allister Martin and Jill, who also taught. By 1987 enrolment reached 40 students, and the first classrooms were built through volunteer labour and the financial support of Mercy Church members who contributed to teaching and other duties. In 2007 the school was renamed Southern Christian College and later became an internationally recognised IB school offering Primary, Middle and Diploma programs, with new facilities added to accommodate growth.
