SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) Program empowers high‑achieving students with advanced-level study, guided by carefully tailored subject timelines. In the senior years, SOAR students can pursue bespoke pathways that directly support their goals, providing a progressive approach to advanced study. Entry into SOAR is by application for students from Year 5, ensuring a personalised and focused learning experience. The program fosters deep learning and intellectual growth beyond the standard timetable.
The Instrumental Music Program is compulsory for Years 3 to 7 and provides hands‑on lessons with specialist instructors, supported by dedicated facilities for instrument study. The program includes Wind Ensemble, Wind Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, Corelli Strings, Bellissimo Strings, String Ensemble, String Orchestra, Drumline, and Rock Band, as well as multiple choirs such as Capriccio Choir, Alpine Singers, Chorale, Bella Voce and Fella Voce. A College Musical is produced every two years, giving students in Years 5–11 the chance to audition and perform in a professional‑level production.
Debating is offered in the Middle & Senior School as part of Clubs & Activities. Readers Cup provides literacy‑based competition opportunities. Choirs and Music Ensembles offer vocal and instrumental performance experiences, enriching the school's cultural life (Capriccio Choir, Alpine Singers, Chorale, Bella Voce, Fella Voce). Dance and Drama programs also contribute to performing arts experiences.
Junior School Clubs & Activities include Chess, Debating, Homework Club and Reading Club. Duke of Edinburgh is offered as a Leadership & Service activity, alongside Kokoda Challenge, Inala Homework Club, Middle School Council and Senior School Council. Leos Club and Readers Cup also form part of student‑led service opportunities, with the Lord Mayor's Young Environmental Leadership Network providing environmental leadership experiences.

Wellbeing is supported by a framework designed to meet the holistic needs of students from Kindergarten to Year 12, developed in partnership with the University of Queensland's Science of Learning Research Centre. The Faith Mission and Wellbeing Centre is home to the College Chaplain, College Psychologists and Heads of House to support student wellbeing. The pastoral care team provides personalised guidance to help students feel valued, understood and empowered. The Wellbeing framework underpins students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
St Johns Anglican College is an Anglican, co-educational day school in Australia serving ages 4 to 18.
