STEM Learning engages Wenona students in coding, computing and engineering. In 2015 Engineering Studies became a NSW HSC subject on campus, and a Stage 5 STEM Elective for Years 9–10 was launched the following year, designed to engage students in coding and engineering. Student-run clubs include the Rocketeers Space Science Club, the Maker Club, the Car Restoration Club and robotics for Years 5–6, with Wenona girls regularly winning state and national STEM awards.
Performing Arts includes Drama, Music and Dance. Music is studied from Kindergarten through to the Higher School Certificate, with options Music 1, Music 2 and Music Extension, and private tuition with AMEB exams available. Nearly two dozen musical groups (six choirs, an orchestra, and wind, brass and string ensembles) participate in school musicals and performances. A Creative Arts after-school and holiday program runs for Years 3–12.
Kindergarten to Year 6 includes French and Mandarin, and Wenona is an authorised International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The school offers international experiences such as educational exchanges, language-based exchanges and cultural/sporting tours, including biennial Creative Arts and Music tours.
The Debating program builds public-speaking and analytical skills. From Year 2, girls debate competitively within the School, and from Year 6 they debate externally in ISDA and the Schools Debating Network. Senior School teams compete in ISDA, Archdale and SDN; additional activities include Wenona's Interhouse Debating (Years 6–11), Term 4 Debating Club (Years 5–8) and a Debating Camp (Years 8–12).
Service Learning is embedded from Kindergarten to Year 12. From Year 9, students undertake Service Learning trips, including overseas and remote-community experiences, and Year 10 involves community service through the SLIC program. There are Service Learning groups such as Music Therapy and Gender Equity, and overseas cultural and sporting tours alongside other community-based projects.
Student leadership is active, with roles such as Head Prefect and a broad leadership team including Prefects, House Captains, Sports Captains, Global Captains, Arts Captains and Cadet Leaders. Wenona runs leadership initiatives such as the Meg Global Citizenship Student Ambassador Program, and new student leaders are inducted through formal ceremonies.
Sport offers interschool competition from Year 3 onward with IPSHA/IGSA fixtures, local community-based competitions and competitive swimming squads. Outdoor Education provides camps and adventure activities (Abseiling, Canoeing, Canyoning, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking) and supports the Duke of Edinburgh program for Years 9–12.
Wenona is a day and boarding school for girls in Australia dating to 1886. The school uses a dual curriculum, combining NSW curriculum with PYP for Kindergarten to Year 6. The Junior School operates on two campuses: Woodstock (Kindergarten to Year 3) and Hooke House (Years 4 to 6). In Year 5, Renaissance Studies begins, and Educational Support Services provide learning support, English language support and gifted and talented extension. Wenona is an IB World School authorised to offer PYP. In Year 10, students complete the Stage 5 NSW curriculum; from Years 11–12, the HSC is studied with English compulsory and languages including French, Mandarin, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese, plus electives. Facilities include Athenaeum, a 300-seat Independent Theatre, Barbara Jackson Library, science labs, art spaces and a 25-m pool used by Wenona Swim Club. The campus supports Performing Arts, STEM and languages, and offers overseas study opportunities after Year 10.
