AL RAWABI PRIVATE SCHOOL was established in 1997 with 25 Kindergarten students in a small villa in Grnata, Kingdom of Bahrain. It expanded to include Primary, Intermediate, and Secondary levels and now operates across two Jablat Hebshi campuses: KG & Primary at Building 689, Road 3514, and Middle & High at Building 677, Road 3514, Block 435. In 2012 Cambridge IGCSE programs were introduced, and in 2014 the school was approved as an IB World School offering the IB Diploma Programme. The school became UNESCO-affiliated in 2015 and earned accreditation from the Middle States Association in 2017, with reaccreditation achieved in 2025. A new campus was launched in 2019, and a new website followed in 2022.
Al Rawabi School is a national bilingual private school operating under Bahrain's Ministry of Education, serving both Bahraini and expatriate communities. The school community is diverse, reflecting Bahrain's varied cultural backgrounds, and most students come from households of modest means. The institution spans two modern campuses, with KG/Primary on 689 Road and 3514 Block 435, and Middle/High on 677 Road and 3514 Block 435 in Jablat Hebshi. The governance structure includes a Board of Directors alongside a Parents Council and a Students Council, underscoring a collaborative, whole-child approach to education.
The school operates a Parents Council (PC) that functions as the PTA, fostering collaboration between families and the school. The PC provides a platform for parents to voice opinions, contribute to decision-making, and actively participate in the school community, supporting the school's mission and promoting a unified approach to student development. Roles within the PC include advisory work, communication, resource support, and advocacy for student needs. Membership is limited to eight members, selected for a three-year term through public elections, with defined roles such as Chairperson and Secretary and governance guidelines for attendance and decision-making. PC meetings are held at least monthly, with minutes recorded and shared to ensure transparency, and designated emails (pr.pc@alrawabi.online for KG/Primary and hs.pc@alrawabi.online for Secondary) facilitate parent communication. The PC works in tandem with the Board of Directors and the Students Council to address school matters and organize or participate in school events and initiatives.
