The scholarship is open to students from Kindergarten (age 5) to Grade 12 (age 17) and is designed to assist families who find the usual school fees challenging to pay. The scholarship covers a reduction in school fees between 10% and 60%, and in exceptional cases up to 85%. Applications follow a two-step process after general admissions, and selections consider academic achievement and attitudes to learning.
The school fosters emotional and social well-being through a wide range of athletic, artistic and social learning opportunities. AIS emphasises a holistic, multicultural environment as part of its education.
The school teaches in English. English as an Additional Language (EAL) support is provided by the EAL Department with a three‑pronged model: small group instruction (pull‑out), collaboration/co‑teaching in mainstream classrooms (push‑in), and professional development for teachers to support English acquisition. The goal is to help students attain proficiency in social language and the language skills needed for academic success.
The school focuses on well-being as part of its holistic education, with programmes and activities across academics, arts and sports to support students' mental and social wellbeing.
