The Montessori Kids school was founded in 1999 by Laurence Randoux and Marc Ciepers, both Montessori teachers. It welcomed its first 2-year-old student in September 1999 in a single class, and three months later expanded to finish the school year with 11 children supervised by two teachers. In the following school year the school added a class for children aged 18 months to 3 years and a class for children aged 3 to 6 years, and in 2001 two more classes were introduced, one devoted to primary education and the other to 3- to 6-year-olds. Today the school has about 100 children aged 18 months to 12 years, divided into four classes overlooking a large garden. Laurence Randoux is the founder and director; the team includes one director, 10 teachers and 4 external speakers, with most teachers in post for at least four years.
The school emphasizes a family, serene and educational atmosphere with a strong sense of community and collaboration among staff, parents and children. The team comprises one director, 10 teachers and 4 external speakers, and their continued service for several years supports continuity and a shared vision. The program includes rhythmic education, swimming, sports education, plastic arts, psychomotor skills and theatre, taught by qualified internal and external educators. Excursions and year‑round events, such as open houses, exhibitions and a year‑end show, involve parents and support student learning.
There is a parents' committee that supports school events. Open House is held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., when the teaching team and management welcome visitors and explain the Montessori approach. Exhibitions of art are organized during Open Days, with works by children and sales to fund art materials. Parents' Morning sessions allow a parent to work in the classroom with their child, and Information Evenings are held at the start of each school year to help parents understand routines. The year-end show involves teachers and the parents' committee, and it is made possible by their contributions.
Montessori Kids Lasne is a Montessori school serving ages 18 months to 12 years. The campus is organized around the Montessori prepared environment, designed to support concentration, self-construction and respect for others. The program emphasizes life skills, self-esteem and cooperative learning through sensitive periods and an integrated, cosmopolitan approach. Children progress through four age groups: 18 months to 3 years, 3 to 6 years (the Children's House), 6 to 9 years and 9 to 12 years. For the 3-6 year group, the core work areas are Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics and Language, complemented by Rhythmic education taught in French. The school offers a broad activity program, including swimming, sports education, plastic arts and theatre with a psychomotor focus. In primary, a five-day boarding trip is organized and excursions are planned within nearby zones, supervised by bilingual staff. Founded in 1999 by Laurence Randoux and Marc Ciepers, it serves 100 children.
