The American International School of Bolivia (AISB) is a co-educational day school in Cochabamba serving 800 students from Pre-Kinder through 12th grade across 15 nationalities. Founded in 1993, the school combines the Bolivian national programme with a US-based preparatory curriculum and the IB Diploma Programme. Accredited by Cognia, the school maintains an 11:1 student-to-teacher ratio and offers programmes in technology, robotics, visual arts, athletics and languages.

American International School of Bolivia teaches IB Diploma Programme, American, Bolivian National for students aged 4 to 18.
The academic curriculum complies with Bolivian Ministry of Education requirements, U.S. curriculum specifications, and the IB diploma syllabus. AISB offers four High School Diplomas: Bolivian Baccalaureate Diploma, Technical Baccalaureate Diploma, American Baccalaureate Diploma, and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or Certificates. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is offered in Grades 11 and 12, with IB subjects across six areas and the option to study a third language (French or Mandarin) as an IB subject. IB subjects are taught in English, while Spanish is developed through a first-language curricular focus to support bilingual graduation. Spanish is taught according to the Bolivian National Curriculum; Quechua is taught as an additional national language; Mandarin and French are offered as elective courses through external providers.

External standardized evaluations include MAP (NWEA), Pre-SAT, SAT, Piense I and II (College Board), and IB tests. SAT, TOEFL iBT, and ACT are optional and AISB is an authorized center to administer these tests. LLECE and ERCE tests of UNESCO, or other tests directed by the Bolivian Ministry of Education, may also be used. Academic achievement is recognized through an Honor Roll with Gold, Silver, and Bronze distinctions, and AISB participates in the Presidential Recognition Program (USA) to honor academic excellence with Gold or Silver awards.
The college counseling department provides guidance to university-bound students and coordinates university research and applications. The IB Diploma Program is widely recognized by universities and is a strength of AISB's curriculum. Recent AISB graduates have gained acceptances to four-year universities, among others. Counselors support exploration and admissions processes to help students access opportunities worldwide.

English is the primary language of instruction; Most content is delivered in English and graduates will have a high level of academic English. The language program develops students to be fully bilingual in English and Spanish and to develop proficiency in other languages. Spanish is an official language of Bolivia and the native language of most AISB students; Non-Spanish speakers quickly become fluent through the Spanish program; In Primary and Secondary School, all students take Spanish according to the Bolivian National Curriculum. Quechua is taught as an additional national language; Mandarin and French are offered as elective courses.
AISB provides mental wellbeing support through Academic Support and Socio-Emotional Counseling. With parental authorization, students can access counseling services addressing academic, social and emotional needs. These services are delivered through AISB's Student Services.
AISB provides an English education and accepts applications based on available spaces. The admissions process has six steps. Step One: Completion of the Admission Form. Step Two: Presentation of Documentation Requirements. Step Three: Applicants from 3rd grade onwards: Computerized placement test to determine the individual planning of the educational process. Step Four: Interview(s) with the corresponding area(s). Step Five: Registration Management 2024. Step Six: Registration (Educational Contract 2024). Step One marks the first step of the admissions process: completion of the Admission Form. Step Two involves presenting Documentation Requirements. Step Three applies to 3rd grade and above and includes a computerized placement test. Step Four involves Interview(s) with the corresponding area(s). Step Five covers Registration Management for 2024. Step Six finalizes enrollment with the Educational Contract (2024).
