The Extension at IELUSC is under the Coordination of Community Action and Social and Environmental Responsibility and takes place in three modalities: institutional programs; extension projects approved in internal editais; curricularization of extension (as per Resolution CNE/CES No. 7, of December 18, 2018); and extension courses. The Extension Guide explains how extensions are organized, and projects and institutional programs provide opportunities to engage in research and apply knowledge beyond classroom learning. A methodological book titled 'Nos caminhos da iniciação científica: guia para pesquisadores em formação' supports student researchers. The program emphasizes practical, community-connected learning and curricular integration of extension activities.
The school has a choir: Coral BOM JESUS IELUSC. Enrollment is by audition through the annual edital; selected students receive a 15% tuition scholarship. The Bonja network infrastructure supports the arts with Musicalização (music education) spaces and an auditorium, facilitating arts activities.
The BONJA network offers a bilingual program and international study opportunities, including BONJA International Primary Programme and the IB Diploma Programme.
Students participate in extracurricular activities such as the BOM JESUS IELUSC Choir, with participation by audition via the annual edital and scholarships for selected participants. The infrastructure also supports sports and recreational activities through Prática de Esportes.
IELUSC in the Community promotes actions connecting higher education with social needs, offering workshops, circles, lectures and capacity-building in education, health, sport and leisure. Activities are conducted by faculty and students from across all ten IELUSC programs, with participation voluntary or via scholarships. The program engages with spaces such as municipal schools, CRAS, Maternidade Darcy Vargas, Hospital São José and CEIs.
IELUSC in the Community fosters leadership and civic engagement; new coordinators were appointed in 2025 to lead the initiative. The program collaborates with other IELUSC extension programs such as CADE, AEP, NIPJ and the Clinic-school to strengthen interdisciplinarity and service capacity, expanding opportunities for learning and community impact.
The Bonja network includes a Swimming Center and gym open to the community, supporting physical wellbeing. The infrastructure also features spaces for music education (Musicalização), a library and an auditorium, and Prática de Esportes (sports practice) on campus.
Bom Jesus IELUSC in Joinville is a private, philanthropic school network offering K–12 education with a bilingual approach. The curriculum combines the Brazilian system with the BONJA International Primary Programme and the IB Diploma Programme. Students study in English with courses delivered in English alongside Portuguese, and the IB Diploma Programme provides immersion in Portuguese, English, and German or Spanish. The school operates across Colégio BONJA and Bonja Infantil, with updated facilities including the Comenius Building, a renovated swimming and fitness center, a refreshed 5th/6th grade building, and Espaço Maker for robotics. A dedicated choir, more than 40 extracurricular activities (music, sports, robotics), and extensive community service programs, such as IELUSC in the Community, enrich student life.
