The school uses the IB Learner Profile to guide student development. The profile describes ten attributes: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Risk-takers, Caring, Open-minded, Principled, Balanced, and Reflective. Education at CIEI is organized around these attributes. Students are encouraged to demonstrate these attributes across learning activities, collaboration, and problem-solving. This IB-based approach supports holistic development and fosters a global perspective.
The school provides support rooms to assist students who require extra help. The building includes dedicated spaces for student support (Salas de apoio). For candidates with special needs, the admissions process requires notice at least five days in advance and a medical report detailing the required adaptations for the assessment. The school's admissions policy reflects attention to individual needs.
Language learning at CIEI includes English, German, and Spanish. English is taught from early childhood through high school. German is taught from the 6th year of EF II through high school. Spanish is taught starting in the first year of high school. The high school program is bilingual.
The school's mission states it aims to develop personal and social skills to become lifelong learners, responsible global citizens who are caring and principled. No enrollment will be considered definitive until the documents required by law and by the school have been delivered.
What documents are required to finalize enrollment?
Early Childhood and 1st Year of Elementary – All candidates will participate in a group activity on the predetermined day.
Fundamental Education – Candidates for classes from the 2nd year will take an Admission Assessment in Mathematics and Portuguese, and for classes from the 3rd year onward, in English.
High School – Candidates will participate in an Admission Assessment that covers all subjects, plus a Portuguese and an English essay. Before final approval, the candidate will be invited to an interview with the coordination.

Educação Infantil e 1º Ano do Ensino Fundamental – Todos os candidatos participarão de uma atividade em grupo no dia pré-determinado.
Ensino Fundamental – Os candidatos para as turmas a partir do 2º ano realizarão uma Avaliação de Admissão em Matemática, Português e, para as turmas a partir do 3º ano, Inglês.
Ensino Médio – os candidatos participarão de uma Avaliação de Admissão que abrange todas as disciplinas, além de uma redação em Português e em Inglês. Antes da aprovação final, o candidato será convocado para uma entrevista com a coordenação.
