Beit Yaacov School was born from a dream to offer the Jewish community an education that combines international academic excellence with the timeless strength of authentic Judaism, transmitting the values of the Torah with deep meaning. In 2026, the school celebrates 25 years of life, a journey built on the belief that true knowledge emerges from the integration of Jewish wisdom and global understanding. Since its founding, Beit Yaacov was the first trilingual Jewish school in Brazil, and English was adopted as a language of instruction to prepare each student to act with confidence, sensitivity, and purpose in a world in constant transformation. The school opened in 2001 in a small green house with 120 students, and inaugurated its headquarters in Barra Funda in 2003 as it expanded to include the first Elementary grades. Beit Yaacov has earned IB accreditation for the Primary Years Programme in 2009, launched the Diploma Programme in 2013, and became an IB Continuum School with MYP certification in 2025.
Cultural and religious events are central to Beit Yaacov School's community life. The first cultural event in 2002 was Building, Creating, Playing; Bat Mitzvah ceremonies began in the school theater in 2008. In 2014 Bar Mitzvah and Brit Milá ceremonies were held in the school synagogue, and the J. Safra Theater opened to the public. The Beit Cultural Event was launched in 2015 to celebrate the anniversary, two new synagogues were inaugurated in 2018, and in 2024 the High School and EJA building opened with a covered gym, modern laboratories, and synagogues, highlighted by a mega concert by an Israeli band.
Escola Beit Yaacov is an IB World School in Brazil offering the full IB continuum alongside a bespoke curriculum for students aged 3 to 18.
