Instituto GayLussac is a long-standing educational institution in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, offering Early Childhood Education, Elementary and Middle School, and High School. It is owned by GayLussac Empreendimentos Educacionais LTDA and operates at Rua Maria Caldas 35, with a branch at Rua Coronel João Brandão 95 in São Francisco. The school celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2024. Since 2019, it formalized an anti-racism policy and in 2023 received the Prêmio Azoilda Loretto da Trindade and the Minha Cor tem Valor seal from the Secretaria de Direitos Humanos de Niterói. In February 2024, the school signed the Certificado de Compromisso Social with Instituto Maria Preta and the Institute Latin American Governance and Public Compliance (IGCP).
World Book Day, designated by UNESCO, is celebrated with reading activities and literacy events across the Early Years and Elementary levels. A storytelling festival and a short-film project encourage students to create and present works, including activities using smartphones. A mural honoring Black Brazilian heroines is featured during Women's Month as part of the school's cultural activities.
