Discipline groups include Language and Literature; Language Acquisition (English and French); Individuals and Societies; Sciences; Mathematics; and Arts. The program follows the Novo Ensino Médio with mandatory and elective subjects, and in the final years (11 and 12) students can deepen in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and electives such as Sports Methodology and Technology. Core aptitudes include Leadership, Career Studies, Vocational Guidance, Independent Studies, Theory of Knowledge, and Community Service.
The Arts group fosters creativity and cultural adaptability, with subjects such as Theatre, Music, Cinema, and Visual Arts.
Our bilingual program is English–Portuguese and provides advantages for academic and social development; at least half of courses are taught in English to accelerate language acquisition. English and French are taught in Group 2; new High School entrants must demonstrate English at CEFR level B2.
Leadership development and personal growth are integrated through core aptitudes, including Leadership, Career Studies, Vocational Guidance, Independent Studies, Theory of Knowledge, and Community Service.
Community service is a strong focus from early years and is carried out inside the school or through community work. In High School this is guided and supervised by the High School Counselor and may occur in contexts such as private organizations, nonprofit organizations, public-sector institutions (including hospitals), and school environments.
Life and Career Projects guide students in planning their university and professional paths, starting in 9th grade to identify interests and mature goals. Leadership, career studies, and vocational guidance are core areas.

Maple Bear Barra da Tijuca is a bilingual school in Rio de Janeiro following a Canadian methodology. The curriculum blends a Canada-inspired approach with Brazilian guidelines to support bilingual proficiency and continuity from years to high school under Novo Ensino Médio. The school serves students from Bear Care (1 year 6 months) through Year 1 (6 years) up to ages 17. English immersion is central, with Canadian educators guiding and periodically monitoring academic team to maintain standards. The campus features stimulating classrooms designed to support learning. Instruction emphasizes observation, problem solving and decision making across subjects.
