Learning Labs provide additional academic support for Kinder through Year 8, offered upon a teacher's invitation. The program strengthens learning and school performance by delivering targeted instructional support. The Portrait of a Panther represents transferable skills that students carry into future learning, including critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Panther Performing Arts offers acting, singing, and dancing free of charge for Years 2 through 5. The program develops creativity, public speaking, teamwork, and storytelling. Panthers also pursue Band and Theater through the PASB Musical and other performing opportunities.
Panther Clubs include Model United Nations (MUN), which engages students with international issues and cross-cultural understanding. The clubs promote global awareness and confidence in public speaking and debate. The school also hosts TED-Ed Club and other activities that broaden cultural perspectives.
Non-sporting clubs include Student Council (STUCO), Astronomy Club, Investment Club, NHS, NjHS, and GIN, along with Destination Imagination (DI) and the PASB Musical. Band and Theater offer creative outlets that encourage collaboration and social connection. These clubs promote leadership, curiosity, and teamwork.
Leadership is cultivated through Panther Clubs such as Student Council (STUCO) and the National Honor Societies (NHS, NjHS). The program also fosters leadership through community projects, peer collaboration, and opportunities in Model United Nations (MUN) and other activities.
Panther Sports focus on sportsmanship, healthy habits, integrity, teamwork, and communication skills. Students participate in local and national events with PASB as part of the Association of American Schools in Brazil (AASB) programs, including soccer, futsal, volleyball, basketball, swimming, and cheerleading, at no extra cost. Starting at Year 4, athletes go through tryouts to earn their spots.
Pan American School of Bahia (PASB) is an international day school for students aged 2 to 18. It offers three diplomas: the Brazilian Ensino Médio Diploma (MEC), the American High School Diploma, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB DP). The IB Primary Years Programme runs from Pre-K to Year 5, and the IB Diploma Programme is offered in Years 11–12. All classes are taught in English, with Brazilian History and Geography (Secondary), Spanish (Secondary), and Portuguese (ECC, Elementary and Secondary) taught in other languages. The curriculum blends American-style college-preparatory coursework with MEC requirements and the IB framework to prepare students for universities worldwide. PASB was founded in 1960 and now operates across campuses featuring an Early Childhood Center (2–6), Elementary (1–5), Middle (6–8), and High School (9–12). The school emphasizes digital fluency and a Maker Culture, with MakerSpaces and a multimedia library. The Community Hub houses an Auditorium, Black Box, a gym, a Music Room, two MakerSpaces, a Media Lab and an MPR. Panthers Sports includes football, futsal, volleyball, basketball, swimming, and cheerleading, part of AASB.
