How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Schedule your visit and meeting. Begin by scheduling a campus visit and arranging a meeting with an Admissions Officer. A Nations Admissions Team member will contact you to arrange the visit or answer questions. 2. Complete the Admissions Form. The Admissions Form is the first formal document for the application. To complete it, upload the child's birth certificate, a recent 3x4 cm photo, and the child's most recent report card (Grades 2–11). The application is not complete until these documents are received. 3. Submit additional documents. Provide copies of the past two years of report cards and the most recent MAP tests or exam samples; include letters of recommendation. Students with special educational needs must provide psycho-educational reports and an Individual Learning Plan. 4. Take the admission assessments. Early Childhood (Nursery–Grade 1) includes an interview with the coordinator and a health/development form. Elementary (Grades 2–5) requires reading and writing in Portuguese (not required for foreign students) and a Mathematics exam; Grades 4–5 require Portuguese as well. Middle School and High School (Grades 6–12) require MAP in English and Math, a Portuguese exam (not required for foreign students), an English essay, and an interview; all candidates are interviewed by the coordinator or counselor, in person unless the student resides outside Brasília; parents may attend. 5. Complete enrollment. After admission approval, submit any requested additional documentation; complete internal forms; read and sign the educational services contract; pay the first tuition installment to finalize enrollment.

School of the Nations is a private, not-for-profit, coeducational international day school in Brasília, Brazil, serving Nursery through Grade 12. It operates on two campuses, Main Campus and Early Childhood Campus, and educates over 700 students from 25 nationalities. The calendar runs from late July or early August to June. Primary instruction is English and Portuguese, with Spanish introduced in Grade 6 and French offered in the After School Program. It is an IB World School authorized for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Diploma Programme (DP); DP authorization was achieved in May 2024 and PYP authorization granted in November 2024. The school is accredited by NEASC and by the Brazilian Secretary of Education. The bilingual curriculum includes Moral Education, arts and sports. Students may earn the Brazilian High School Diploma, the IB Diploma, and the NEASC-accredited High School Diploma. Extracurriculars feature drama, Model United Nations, and service opportunities.
