School of the Nations fosters a transformational learning culture that develops conscious, compassionate, and capable global citizens. It emphasizes four dimensions of human development—intellectual, artistic, social, moral, and spiritual—through an integrated, aligned curriculum, with assessment practices that guide and reflect each learner's growth toward meaningful lives and positive social impact. Moral Education and Service are core components of the program, alongside the arts and sports. The Nations Festival and annual school events promote intercultural understanding and celebrate global citizenship.
The primary languages of instruction are English and Portuguese. Spanish is introduced starting in Grade 6, and French is offered in the After School Program. An English Language Learner (ELL) program and a Portuguese Language Learning (PLL) program support students whose first language is not English or Portuguese. All teachers are language teachers, and English language proficiency expectations are used from Grade 4 onward for admission and progression.
In the Early Years, language development is paired with social-emotional growth in a language-rich, emotionally nurturing environment. The language policy emphasizes social-emotional learning and intercultural understanding as part of language education, supporting students' emotional intelligence and wellbeing.
The school provides a safe, healthy, and happy environment as part of its mission to educate world citizens, and it holds NEASC accreditation along with national accreditation, underscoring its safeguarding commitment.
