History

Valley International School is a pioneer in international education in Itajaí, Santa Catarina. It is the 15th school in Brazil certified by the IB for the Primary Years Programme. The school uses Portuguese and English as languages of instruction and teaches the international curriculum in English. It offers a rigorous internationally oriented program that encourages the pursuit of knowledge through research and commitment to learning. Eight years of operation in the Valley do Itajaí region, on a campus of about 18,000 square meters with 51 faculty members.

Community

Valley promotes a multicultural environment within its academic community through the daily use of Portuguese and English and through respect and encouragement of language learning. Students represent 10 nationalities and teachers come from 6 countries. The school offers more than 30 after-school clubs. It is a Cambridge English Preparation Centre.

The school uses Portuguese and English as languages of instruction and offers Cambridge English Preparation Centre to support Cambridge exam preparation. The campus spans 18,000 square meters and hosts 51 faculty members, with classrooms, a library, laboratories, a canteen, and a playground. After eight years of operation in the Valley do Itajaí region, the school follows a transdisciplinary approach that integrates the Brazilian curriculum with the PYP framework. The early childhood program follows the National Curriculum Guidelines, while the upper grades study the international program in English through a transdisciplinary model. More than 30 after-school clubs run from 4:15 pm to 5:00 pm, complementing core learning. Sporting facilities include a sports court and other spaces for student life.
