English is the language of instruction across the curriculum. All students study English Language and English Literature, with English as an Additional Language (EAL) support as needed. Languages taught include Bahasa Melayu, Chinese, Malay, French and Spanish; Bahasa Melayu is offered for native speakers. In the Middle Years (Years 7–9), students study Languages including Bahasa Melayu, Chinese, Malay, French or Spanish; in Years 7 and 8 they choose two languages, and in Year 9 they continue with one language, European or Asian. In the Upper Years, students study one language with options French, Spanish, Chinese, Malay as a foreign language or Bahasa Melayu as a native language.
Jerudong International School (JIS), established in 1997, is a British International day and boarding school located in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.
