Jerudong International School (JIS) was established in January 1997 to serve both the expatriate and local Bruneian communities. The school is privately owned and operated by Jerudong International School Sdn Bhd. It was purpose-built and has expanded steadily over the years in both enrolment and facilities. JIS operates under a Board of Directors and has developed into one of Brunei’s most internationally connected schools, offering recognised global qualifications.
JIS has an active and diverse school community that includes families from over 45 nationalities. A central part of this community is the Jerudong Parent Community Committee (JPCC), a volunteer parent group that supports new families, organises regular coffee mornings, and helps run school-wide events such as International Day. The JPCC also coordinates popular social events like the Quiz and Curry Night, fostering informal connections between parents and staff.
