Language Provision

The school teaches in English; English is the language of instruction, and students are expected to communicate in English at all times. Khmer and Korean are offered as language subjects; Khmer or Korean is available as a primary language option and languages are taught as specialist subjects in Middle School. French is offered as an IGCSE option in Grades 9–10. English Language Learners are supported with a policy allowing a maximum of 25% ELL students in a class, and students are expected to speak English in class and on the playground.

HOPE International School was established in 2002 and follows an English-medium international curriculum from preschool through Grade 12. The campus is located to the north‑west of Phnom Penh, close to the international airport and described on the school website as a purpose-built campus on the edge of the city overlooking rice fields and open spaces. HOPE offers early years provision reporting against the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a primary programme based on the UK national curriculum, IGCSE in Grades 9–10 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Grades 11–12. The school notes a student body of about 270 and runs service-learning (Vision in Action / VIA) and IB CAS requirements in its upper years.
